Bar Restaurante Subenuix — Restaurant in La Puebla de Castro

Staff seemed astonished upon our arrival and appeared appalled we dared to set foot in their establishment. Mind you, we were well dressed and speak Spanish. We had made a reservation, which again, somehow surprised the staff and we were asked if we were sure. Once seated, we were waiting on the other half of our dinner party. While waiting, several waiters passed us but nobody bothered to ask if we'd like a drink. We travel with a 6 year old who was thirsty (it was 30'C outside) and after multiple attempts over the course of 15 minutes, I was able to flag down a waitress. She came up and was silent. I asked, in Spanish, if we could please order some drinks. Now, I kid you not, she raised her eyebrow as if making clear that the audacity of my question was just unheard of, and said angrily "que"?!. Ok then. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water and a peach juice for my daughter. After ten minutes, the water came but the juice never did. In the meantime, I see waiters being decently polite to other guests (whom are all Spanish) so I am starting to sense we aren't welcome on account of being foreign. After half an hour and not having been asked what we want to eat or having received any attention whatsoever, we decided it was time to go. So I can't actually rate the food though the food that was being served to other guests looked tasty. We couldn't ask for the bill since we were being ignored so we left two euros on the table for the water.

They have plenty of choice on the menu, overal I find the food a bit on the greasy side but it's doable for the price you pay compared to peers (13-14 euro for a menu). the nice view on the lake and mountains is...

Very rude waiter, average food. This restaurant is situated in such a pretty location and we came from a long drive so were really looking forward to a nice relaxed meal with the amazing view. We were coldly welcomed and the waiter was rude towards my mum when she asked about the menu. They let other people pass in front of us who were locals and were dismissive towards us when we asked for a table upstairs. The food was average but affordable prize.

Una de las camareras fue desagradable y maleducada. La comida no es nada especial. El menú del día es barato. Nos dieron una recepción fría y nos ignoraron cuando otra familia llego después de nosotros. Una de las camareras fue amable pero la otra fue muy desagradable. Ni si quiera escuchó lo que deseábamos beber y no nos describió el menú apropiadamente. Incluso parecía ofendida cuando le preguntamos sobre el menú.
