The best was the 2 desserts. One was Spring Landscape with an explosion of diverse flavors while the other is rich blue cheese cake. I wish all other main dishes were as tasty and flavorful. But no. Though the presentation was pretty at times, they were not seasoned at all. Almost totally bland, including the micro foam. We were told it meant to be that way for the original flavor of the food, but we could do that at home by ourselves if we want to. Plus some of them were boiled or soapy. Once there was water in the food, the taste couldn't be original anymore. It was just watery and bland. The combination was supposed to bring out the flavors, but no. Period. We all know a little salt would bring out the food's original flavor and make them even more delicious. But no. We couldn't taste salt. They There was no acidity at all. Even if we added a bit salt on the steak, it didn't taste right as it was cold already and the salt wouldn't melt and bring out anything.

What a disappointment for us to drive 3.5 hours each way from Bilbao to this restaurant. 7 hours was totally wasted. And my husband asked me to cancel most of Michelin star restaurants I booked at Nortern Sapin and Basque Country. We can't trust the review anymore. We tried many Michelin star restaurants all over the world. There were ones not as good, but land like...

My 151st Michelin restaurant experience, and the first thing I have to say is Goshhhh I just LOVE LOVE LOVE that places like Monte exist!! Delightful local cuisine in a tiny little house in an even tinier little hilltop village in Asturias. Quaint, transportive, and memorable.

And my goodness, the amount of food you get to try in what might be the best value tasting menu in the world is just... GAH! 75 euros for nearly 15 items (from small bites to pretty sizeable mains for a Michelin)... just incredible! And as other reviewers have said, the cheesecake... the best of my life. Yes it isn't molecular gastronomy and looks just like a regular cheesecake, but holy moly, it is heaven.

Monte is a must if coming anywhere near San Feliz. A...

Llevaba tiempo queriendo visitar Monte.

We spent a week in Asturias on a gastronomic tour and Monte was our definite favorite. From the moment we arrive, the host (lady with blonde hair) made us feel right at home as she offered us an aperitivo in their beautiful patio. The food was exquisite, well executed and presented but most importanly took us on a journey through the Chef’s village. It was a very nice touch to have the chef present some of the dishes, really appreciate it! Thank you Chef Xune for dreaming big and creating this type of food in this idyllic environment!

¡Volveremos!
