This isn't supposed to happen. You normally can't take a road trip through Spain, highlighting some of the most renowned gastronomic locations in the region, and find a hidden gem in, of all places, a youth sports complex. Yes, this should have been bland, regular, boring cafeteria food. But it wasn't. It was fresh, delicious, extraordinary food. The goat cheese salad was the best I ever had. The egg and mushroom mix the wife had was spectacular. And the main courses were fantastic cuts of meat. More importantly, the service and graciousness of the staff was beyond expectations. The wine and dessert suggested were top notch. If you are in the area tasting, do yourself a favor and mark down this little, unassuming, locals hangout joint as a prime location for one of the best meals you may have.

Súper happy to have stumbled upon this place. Traditional dishes done very well. We had the menu del dia and the beef cheeks and 'secreto del Cerdo' and both were excellent. Run by a young friendly couple (the house Rioja was good too).

Típico bar de pueblo con mesas de txiringuito. El ambiente es más de poteo que de restaurante por lo que sí buscas un sitio tranquilo para comer no lo recomiendo. Te vas a encontrar a la típica cuadrilla hablando alto, fumando, escupiendo al suelo, con perros que no dejan de acercarse a tu mesa a pedir comida.. Si lo mencionado anteriormente no te molesta, entonces puedes ir tranquilamente porque la comida y el servicio es correcto. En nuestro caso hemos comido una ensalada de tomate, ensalada de codorniz al escabeche y chuletillas de cordero, todo correcto.

Que yo sepa el precio del menú es razonable, y es totalmente incierto que el precio varíe. Además si tú pides un solo menú para dos y luego te quedas con hambre es lógico y tu responsabilidad por haberlo pedido así y hacer que en cocina os lo organicen encima como se ha pedido, cuando en muchos bares de La Rioja Alavesa,como dicen por aquí cuatro indecentes, no lo dejan hacer pero hicieron la excepción porque son gente muy maja y con muy buen servicio SIEMPRE. También observo que hay quien carece de paladar, porque no entiende de calidad en la comida cuando hay muchas cosas que vienen directas de Cádiz de la lonja y fresco. La comida si tiene calidad, pero claro, habiendo compartido el menú se te queda en un diente,por lo que no os ha dado tiempo ni a saber a qué sabe. Supongo que hay sinvergüenzas que prefieren beber y no apuntar en el baño, habría que ver cómo tratáis a vuestra madre si tratáis así a quien os sirve la comida. Sólo hay que ver el resto de comentarios positivos,que son los que sí se hacen de verdad y de gente normal que se pide el menú,se lo come,da las gracias, paga y se va sin...
