Amazing food and service, in a secluded and charming village, plenty of flowers. Located in the "Plaza Mayor". It was like being in "Allo Allo" with René. Nice atmosphere, almost homely, relaxed and welcoming. The service was very friendly, profesional and efficient ( Thank you to Dani, Xabia's first-choice goalkeeper, Anto in the kitchen and Sandra). We were greeted and seated promptly and our drinks and food were ordered and delivered without delay. Try "Pilotes", "Albondigas" or "Aspencat", just delicious. Wines from Rioja or Ribera and also the highly acclaimed Chateaux d'Almansa ¡¡¡¡¡Gorgeous¡¡¡¡¡. Olives from a local farmer who make the brine with oregano (local herb), lemon and rosemary, and fried peanuts home made with olive oil from the surroundings mountains of Alicante, and "cold meat" locally made from Anto's mother grocery in LLiber. Unfortunately, I have to change my previous 5-star review from five years ago to 3 stars, as the food is no longer as perfect as it used to be. We had a tapas meal, but the dishes were served with long gaps — around 20 minutes between each. The fish pieces were quite chewy, and the octopus rings were sliced so thin that they turned out dry and crispy instead of tender. Great bar, restaurant especially for tapas. Real Spanish atmosphere, very friendly personnel. And on an absolut beautiful location.
