Restaurant Casa Albets — Restaurant in Lladurs

This is the first time for me that a Michelin recommendation turned out to be a total failure. I don’t even know where to start, but almost everything about this place was wrong. The first impression was that we entered a dining room which was very cold and almost as bright as a dentist’s office. Since the menu is set, the only selection you make is drinks which is difficult given that the menu is not translated and the service doesn’t help you with the choice, on the contrary: you are being hushed into making your choice. The restaurant seems not to be able to decide whether they want to offer a fine-dining experience or sustainable plant-based cuisine. The outcome is you get small portions of very simple food that lacked the special touch i would expect from a place with that prize tag.

The positives are that the location of the restaurant is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and the white wine we had was solid. Cold as it should be.

All in all, if you have non-vegan friends that you want to get into plant-based food: there are much better places for that.

P.S.: for god’s sake don’t serve ready-made meat...

A veces, a los que consumimos demasiada proteína animal, el término vegano nos frena un poco. En casa Albets este prejuicio desapareció cuando empezaron a desfilar los platos entre los comensales. El tándem formado por Joel y Megan, chef y sala, le tiene cogido el pulso a un menú de degustación muy variado y en constante evolución. Platos frescos con elaboraciones que entran por los ojos, producto de temporada y sabor, mucho sabor. Sorpresa tras sorpresa deglutimos siete elaboraciones saladas y dos dulces, todo regado con vinos de la comarca y un cava mas que correcto. Es una singladura que comenzó con ilusión, esfuerzo y grandes dosis de amor por el trabajo bien hecho. Y esto, amigos, se nota...

Hotel muy acogedor en un entorno rural y muy apartado y tranquilo, ideal para desconectar y relax. Habitaciones sencillas, tranquilas y acogedoras. Los encargados muy amables. Restaurante vegano excelente, sabores increíbles, como estar en un restaurante de estrella michelin. Postres geniales. Raciones un tanto pequeñas, te quedas con ganas de repetir de todo. Vale la pena ir hasta allí solo por probar sus platos, eso si los precios son un poco altos, pero totalmente justificados, dada la gran calidad. Totalmente...
