Restaurante-Bar La Venta De Alfaix — Restaurant in Los Gallardos

Very bad mood of the staff, not at all welcoming.

The food was bland, service was minimum and the price quite high for what we ate (6 adults, 4 kids). Really a much better ambiance in the bar of the HBP, much better food and a more welcoming staff.

I would even recommend to go to Garrucha or any nearby town for a lunch/souper than going to this restaurant.

Danke well (the owners seem to be Dutch) but you have to change something because it is clearly not working for your customers (but then again, they know they have a captive customer base).

A real tourist trap.

I would definitely not recommend going to this restaurant. Odd and even bad feeling among the staff which translates into bad food and bad service.

And let's not talk about the quality of the food (awful), the price (mot expensive place we have been to) or the service (no smile and staff made us feel not welcome).

Sorry for this bad review (rarley leave one) but you have really earned it....

Staying at next door HPB property el pueblito de Alfaix, we called into La Venta for a drink, intending to order pasta and a pizza. We had been in the previous night and seen people eating them at a table outside, and thought they looked OK. After the initial drink, we went to the bar to order, but were told by the manageress(?) that it was "not their policy" to serve food outside. We pointed out that we had seen people doing just that the night before, but her response was that they were fully booked, and it was the worst time to ask for food. Admittedly it was Saturday night - but there were very few people in the restaurant, and it was only 7.30 (comparatively early for eating in Spain)! Apart from that - they advertise that they do takeaways, so presumably we could have ordered something to take away at any time?...

The most embarrassing experience I have had at a restaurant in all my years of eating out (on our second visit in 2 days - the first was great - coincidentally, this owner/manager wasn't there).

Through a misunderstanding of some sort, we arrived half an hour late (thinking we were on time). The owner/manager (I think) who was generally a very surly and abrupt man, approached us as we entered the seating area and angrily / loudly reprimanded us about being 30 minutes late. This was in the middle of all the diners in the outside area.

He left us with no choice really - it would have been awkward to stay, so we turned around and walked off to go and have a lovely evening at a village restaurant nearby.

A real shame as our first experience was really good - both the food and the service from...
