Bodeguita La Platanera — Restaurant in Los Silos

This is a lovely little restaurant offering fantastic food at good value, all accompanied by amazing service from everyone!

The food is a very high standard and super tasty. All based on local dishes with local ingredients, the banana and goats cheese croquetas for example were really, really good! We had these as a starter to share (the menu is simple and to the point; a list of 7 or 8 dishes without any starter or main separation), followed by the octopus salad for my partner and from the specials board, braised beef cheeks with potatoes. Both dishes were lovingly prepared and very flavoursome. The house red was a great accompaniment.

All dishes were explained to us by our waiter (I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name!), who tried his best to explain in English, which was far better than my broken Spanish. He did a great job at convincing us on the dishes to go for, telling us about the portion sizes to help us decide to go for 1 or 2 plates. His recommendations were top notch, and he continued to check on us attentively without being invasive. We can’t fault his service, or the service of anyone’s interaction! (Even from one of the chefs!)

The restaurant itself is quaint and intimate, suited to those who want to sample a real taste of what the Canaries have to offer. We will most likely revisit before our holiday comes to end, but if we don’t get around to it, it will be one of the highlights for sure! :)

Un ristorante davvero consigliato. Sul loro menù si presentano dicendo di utilizzare solo ingredienti del luogo e di rivisitando piatti tipici a modo loro. Che dire, la loro intenzione è più che riuscita e lo si capisce dai piatti.

Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Presente e che sa consigliare. Abbiamo ordinato, eravamo in due,:

Papas con Moho, le salse sono state rivisitate da loro in modo eccellente, la salsa rossa non me l’aspettavo così interessante con una nota acidula che ben si bilanciava con il dolce tipico. La salsa verde è la salsa verde, buona, “agliosa”. Non ci si può aspettare altro.

Pescado Salado con Platano, molto buono il pesce in combinazione con la banana grigliata (molto adeguata al luogo, visto che il ristorante è circondato da piantagioni di banane).

Ensaladilla de Batata y Pulpo, non me la aspettavo così. Mi aspettavo un insalata di polpo e patate tipica, ma in questa versione mi ha stupito e mi è davvero piaciuta. Pezzettini di polpo, patate buone, crostini di pane buoni.

Abbiamo accompagnato il tutto con due calici di vino bianco, fermo consigliato dai camerieri in base ai piatti che avevamo ordinato. Molto buono. Per finire abbiamo ordinato la Tarta de Limón con il caffè.

La Tarta sapeva era molto delicata ed al Limone. Nel senso che sapeva effettivamente di limone. Non abbiamo provato altri dolci ma ci è davvero piaciuta.

Per finire, il caffè. Il caffè ci è stato portato al tavolo direttamente in Moka. E non è scontato trovare un caffè in Moka buono. Insomma, il posto ci è piaciuto molto e lo...

Great authentic Canarian & Spanish restaurant in Los Silos. Bodeguita La Platanera has a very cute and quaint atmosphere and has some of the best food in the area. There are tables inside and outside, and the restaurant tends to get quite crowded after it opens. The octopus sweet potato salad is a great starter. The menu changes every day with daily specialities such as scrambled eggs with cod and onions etc. The lemon pie was delicious, not too sweet and very light.
