Benta Ardandegia S L — Restaurant in Luzaide

Lovely little place in Valcarlos on the Pilgrim Way to Santiago. Great local food, made with local produce, at an excellent price. You won’t leave hungry or disappointed! Just try the mushroom salad with chanterelles! Mmm mmm. Their own wine was very acceptable, either ‘normal’ or chilled! The Outside seating was both in the sun or in the shade and ideal for those of us who have dogs! Over our couple of weeks holiday we ate at both lunchtimes and evening at least half a dozen times....

We arrived at Valcarlos in the rain after our walk. We had a coffee in Benta Ardanegia which was lovely and at a great price. We then went back for a brilliant lunch - the starter could have a main course anywhere else and the main was super tasty - not posh but honest good food. The bottle of wine was included which was great. The lady serving was patient with our lack of Spanish and happy to chat in French with my friend. A welcome and appreciated...

This is what a cosy mountain village cafe/ restaurant is all about.... good food, cold beer and wine with even a small supermarcado for good measure! It çan be busy but service trys to be attentive. and always interesting to enjoy the village way of life. Food is plentiful ànd the cheesecake...
