Bar/Restaurante Binidali — Restaurant in Maó

It's a rare occurrence when traveling that you experience such wonderful hospitality coupled with amazingly delicious food.

As a foreigner, usually you have to bargain for one or the other. This was not the case with Bar Restaurante Binidali Chez Pablo. As soon as we arrived Paul greeted us with a smile and welcomed us into his quaint cocina on the hill.

Tucked away from the rest of the island in a cozy cul-de-sac along beautiful villas, reservations are highly recommended to ensure a table table and wonderful selection of food for the evening.

Our airBnb was not more than ten meters from Paul's enticing establishment, already drawn to it when we first arrived. Two times we dined during our stay and the food was even unbelievably tastier the second.

We ordered a variety of fresh fish that he so gingerly presents upon arrival, but in addition to delicious food of the sea, he prepares appetizers, drinks, and desserts to die for.

He constantly checked in on us, though not at all intrusive, but always with a smile to make sure we were happy and well supplied with sublime sangria.

From the savoury supper you'd think Paul has studied the culinary arts along great chefs like Gordon Ramsey, though he's humble enough not to mention that it's actually true.

Having lived in a variety of countries, he's very well traveled and you'll hear him speaking a variety of languages on the phones as regulars call in to reserve their seats for the night.

This has been the best dining experience I have ever had abroad, and am highly considered coming back to Menorca just for an evening of his stories and Sea Bass.

Be sure to ask him about his photography and suggested excursions around the island. He made this trip truly unforgettable.

Looks like a hole in a wall but this a really nice neighborhood restaurant and bar. Had the right vibe to seat outside and enjoy the sun with good local cuisine. Plus side - they were open even though it was off season.

The staff were gracious enough to seat me even though the kitchen was closing. Had the grilled squid which came with some extra seafood and grilled potatoes. Dessert was this awesome puff pastry concoction with custard. Main dessert and large drink all came under €30 so very reasonable. Would recommend if you are...

Waren hier spontan zum Mittagessen gg 14.30h. Viele Tische draußen waren bereits reserviert, es war gut voll (drinnen jeder Tisch besetzt) als wir ankamen, bekamen glücklicherweise noch einen Tisch draußen.

Restaurant ist in einem Kreisverkehr im Wohnviertel.

Super freundliche Bedienung

Wartezeiten bis man eine Karte bekommt ca 10min. Bestellung aufgegeben hat leider auch nochmal 10min gedauert. Bedienungen haben sich mehrmals entschuldigt. Auf Vorspeisen haben wir auch nochmal 10min. gewartet. Hauptgang kam nicht zeitgleich und auch etwas gedauert. (lag evtl. am vollen Restaurant)

Muscheln waren gut, haben uns persönlich nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Haben schon bessere in Menorca gehabt.

Sardellen waren sehr gut.

Die Seezunge sehr schmackhaft, wirklich empfehlenswert, aber mit 17€ etwas hochpreisig.

Der Oktopus hat uns persönlich nicht überzeugt, sehr kleiner Oktopus (sah auf Karte im Internet größer aus), dafür zu viele Kartoffeln und f. 17. 50€ zu teuer..

Die Küche war für uns persönlich gesehen mit zu vielen Gästen etwas überfordert, dazu die langen Wartezeiten (Gäste an Nebentischen die zur gleichen Zeit kamen, warteten noch länger auf das Essen. Eine Familie hatte das Essen noch nicht als wir bereits bezahlten und die kamen zur gleichen Zeit an), darum 3*.

Auch sind die Preise f. manche Gerichte für uns zu hoch gewesen.

Die Bedienungen waren wirklich bemüht es allen recht zu machen. Sich auch bei Gästen f. Wartezeiten entschuldigt.

Das Restaurant könnte für uns persönlich noch besser sein 😊 Für ein Abschiedsessen kurz vor Abflug soweit gut gewesen, jedoch würden wir hier nicht nochmal...
