It’s a beach bar. There is nothing refined about it. It is a beach bar almost as beach bars should be, as beach bars used to be. I say almost because there is a board base to the outside seating area, whereas that would have been the beach itself before health departments created, oft times, stupid rules. All the sanitised beach bars, that are really just restaurants at the seaside, could take a heads up from this place They serve “beach” food, being mainly fish dishes, but the house speciality is roasted chicken, the plates of which we saw pass by were very generous portions with a good “crisp” look to the skins. Our dishes of Clams, Mussels gratinados, fried baby squid, and, although a portion for one it more than served two, tuna salad, were all generous of size and good of quality. When you ask for a large tinto de verano, you get one (a pint mug) - all marvellous stuff. The staff were really friendly but hard to find. The search for service was our only disappointment. We maybe wrong, but had the sensation the young waiter was there under duress (a family obligation maybe). He smiled, was pleasant, but mostly absent. His elder (Father!) made us feel like regulars, made our big dog very welcome (there were many others there, so the word is obviously out on that one already). But he too was mostly absent!. Shame we found it at the end of the season, so they likely close soon, but we will return, and hope they take this feedback as constructive and up the anti on the service. No food photos, as we began demolishing it the moment it arrived - we were hungry!

We don't know what a Chiringuito is supposed to look like, or be. What is a 'Traditional Chiringuito'? What we can report to all our readers is this: Go to this place if you are in the area, it's open all year. It's family owned and run. It's couldn't be anymore .on the beach' if was in the water!! Absolutely fabulous Beach Bar, beachside cafe, and Bistro. As a Beach Bar it's awesome. We only went for a walk, none of the Chiringuitos are opne in the area from La Duquesa Marina all the way along to this place. It was a 2 mile walk and worth every step. The food is local (ingredients and dishes) and simple, the wine and beer is all Spanish (that we could see). We had 2pts San Miguel, 2 x Red wine (of the house), Chips, Squid, a Tuna Salad and Rice Pudding. We only had (on the advice of the lady-in-charge!!) a single portion of each dish. MORE THAN ENOUGH for two people. How refreshingly frank, honest and proud of her. Our entire bill was euro45 ... absolute value for money. It's rustic in design which only adds to the feeling of authenticity and there is no pretention beyond the kitchen/diner of my Grandmother's home. The resident cat was also a friendly member of the team. What would I (will I) do differently next time ... have Paealla for which, it turns out, this family cook is famous! A wonderful experience and I bet in the summer months, it's difficult to get into this specific Chiringuito and rightly so. Don't miss out, get yourself along there before you forget and leave the area ... if you live locally, eat here.

It's the real thing! No chance of repairing the wood floors etc during winter...anyway, busy all year round! Spanish get there early cos they know you need to get a table...we (Brit family) go about 1600 / 4pm when many Spanish are back on the beach lol. No rules on dress / undress...hey, they're Spanish!... toilets famously erm..interesting...if the guys with accordians turn up, drop them some coins...they gotta eat! I think they have about 3 songs...can't do La Bamba.. I thought maybe Peruvian, but actually Romanian. Our family favourite , returned to time after time.

NEFASTO SERVICIO Y EXPERIENCIA!
