WEMBLEY SPORT BAR — Restaurant in Mequinenza / Mequinensa

Excellent English menu which suits many of the Northern European anglers that visit this freshwater fishing Mecca. Known for its carp and catfish. The bar is decorated in a deliberately sympathetic pub style. Cleverly combining classic sporting memorobilia with current local fishing acclaim. The service although friendly can be lack luster. For English speakers only there is normally a young English barman who is obliging and friendly. If your food order goes wrong though it is rare you are appeased. It is normally someone elses fault. Rarely said ( because no one apologises ) but one could be left thinking that as a client it is somehow your fault ! A real bug bare of mine is that in the last 3 years of going there ( yes the English food is tha authentic ) they have never managed to put a lock on the mens toilet door ! This is not the urinal i refer to this is the cubicle. Worse than no lock though is that the normal latch doesnt shut either. So ...on a Saturday night when there might be 100+ people in there if you are caught short you have to sit on the pan and hold the door with the outside left of your left foot which is hardly the strongest stopper for a right footed person. And then there is only one urinal outside so bursting in happens all the time as people want to use the cubicle to urinate. I have raised this on 5 separate occassions over 3 years. Its only 20-30 euros to get it fixed ! And btw i live in Spain so im used to mañana but this scenario is riddiculous. Anyway...you want good Enhlish food while your fishing and your prepared to wait for it. Good place to visit. Just empty your bowels first...

El ambiente es bueno. Gente muy amable, buena decoración precios correctos (cerveza normal nacional por debajo de 2 euros, teniendo en cuenta que es un pub, está muy bien ). Los bocatas bien, las bravas EXCELENTES. No le doy 5 porque la música, a partir de ciertas horas, es pues lo que toca hoy en día para atraer a gente joven, aunque ojo, que por la tarde/inicio noche pueden meter música muy buena, pero eso sólo son gustos, y yo ya no soy una chaval.
