So disappointing went yesterday 29th. The welcome was good but the place was freezing. Double doors open to the elements. 3 fan heaters could not cope. Everyone sat in coats and cardigans to eat their meal. It was so dark we had to use our phone torch to read the menu. 2 spinich starters were served still frozen. We ordered pork after assurances fron steve the chef thst there was crackling. Guess what no crackling. The meal itself was a good portion the roast potatoes tasted like they were rewarmed but sadly the place was so cold our meals were cold before we could finish eating. There was an open fire that if it had been lit might well have changed the whole ambience. When we asked for the bill we didnt actually get one just told how much we owed which was a bit bizarre. Read moreToday I went to the beach in benalmadena sat sun bathing flicking through facebook and up popped a post about the carob bar and I'm so happy it did , what a beautiful little place ,I went with my parents we all chose menu del dia which turned out to be the best menu del dia I've had so far in spain ,I had the chicken spring roll with sweet chilli sauce for starter delicious, followed by ham egg and chips when I tell you the ham was amazing a very tasty free range egg and proper home made chips it seriously hit the spot for me and then the lovely server recommended the chocolate cake it lived up to the hype rich gooey chocolate heaven . I will definitely be going back the next chance I get oh and to top it off if I didn't think it could get better they make the most flavorful lemon iced tea themselves so refreshing on a hot day like today. Just four months ago, the Carob Bar was a humble local spot—but thanks to Karen and Stuart, it’s now the go-to place to meet, mingle, and celebrate. Their infectious energy and warm hospitality have created a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home.
I’ve had the pleasure of sampling their delicious homemade dishes—each one bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. And of course, I’ve enjoyed more than a few drinks from the bar, all served with flair. But it’s Karen’s cocktails that truly steal the show. Her Harvey Wallbangers and Mojitos are so exceptional, I’ve found myself unwilling to order them anywhere else. Even the Sangria is top-notch!
