Restaurante Hoyo 19 — Restaurant in Mijas

If you're a tourist, stay away from this restaurant!

It was our second time there and they cheated us twice!

When we went there for the first time my husband ordered steak. The price is 70E/kilo.

The waiter didn't weigh meat and later they asked us to pay for 1 kilo! The portion wasn't 1 kilo for sure!

The food tasted quite well so today we thought to give them the second chance.

I ordered fresh orange juice. The waitress brought me the one from the bottle.

When I told her it wasn't the fresh juice, she convinced me it was! I said I didn't want such juice. After the while the waiter brought me the fresh one!

I ordered spaghetti with seafood. It was written in the menu that it is with different kind of sea food - I got the huge plate of pasta, only 5 shrimps and a few small clams which didn't taste fresh ;(

Lasagne that was ordered by my friend wasn't even warm and didn't taste well.

We said the waiter we didn't want bread.

When he gave us the bill, it was written in Spanish that we have to pay for 2 portion of bread and 3 beer (we ordered 2)!!!

When he told it to the waiter he even didn't say sorry but looked...

Used to be good here but sadly they have a poor chef these days, no idea of presentation on the plate. Saturday lunch ordered Shoulder of Lamb 22E, what arrived looked like an overdone,skinny leg with very pale, bland boiled sliced potatoes, supposed to be patatas pobre which should be with onion and green peppers, plus tiny scoop of mushy mixed veg, other guest had fish, Lubina, supposed to be cooked in garlic and white wine, just arrived overcooked in lots of oil same bland potatoes, and veg, no sign of white wine sauce, E18 for this is disgraceful, the House Salad had lots of lettuce, tomato, some avocado slices, no tuna, no hardboiled egg, no red onion, beetroot etc, very poor content for E8.50 complained to waiter, he just shrugged, will not recommend nor return, Venta Moreno across the road so much better at same prices,...

We had a very romantic afternoon with great tapas,cheese, chutney,meat, sangria,slabs of fine manchego cheese,small burgers in a pepper sauce,calamari,2 jugs of wine,fishcakes, gherkins,creamy buns and fantastic fish fillets.The atmosphere was fair.The location was slightly interesting.The parking was substandard,the prices quite fair.We met up with a local group of 19 couples of varying nationalities whose hobbies included reading,jumping,clapping, skiing,chess,go karting, running, skipping,singing, shouting, swimming,board games,hunting,fishing, salvaging small pets, hopping, climbing,wine tasting, teaching and helping the old people in the local and international community.We had decent fun.The cofee...
