I love to eat meat, I’m a carnivore, my apologies to any offended.
I once spent a week in Texas and at the end of it I had the digestive tract of a mountain lion.
Wherever we go, meat has to to be on the menu. I’ve had Texas BBQ, steak at Delmonico’s, Hawksmoor in London (doesn’t come close) more than a few of the supposedly celebrated places that throw meat on the grill.
Nothing comes close to this place, not by a country mile!
The staff here are A1 at Lloyds, friendly, professional, be nice to them, they work hard! Jimmy is what is known as a character, a great host, he is, in fact, exactly what a host should be.
That being said his hosting skills are far outweighed by his ability to char a piece of meat.
Most can cook a steak. We all know how. Throw it in a pan or on a grill, pour some melted butter on before lobbing it on a plate.
We’ve all had a go but to perfectly char a piece of beef, is an art form and last night, as with every time we’ve ate here, I had a fillet of beef that should have been framed and hung on a wall!
The scallop starter was top notch, as were the prawns pil-pil but the steak was on a different level! Sublime!
We called in on the off chance, it was early and we were lucky to get a table downstairs on the terrace.
We ate and ran (we paid the bill first but we were in a hurry) albeit next week we’re meeting two of our oldest friends here (they introduced us to this amazing place) we’re upstairs on the terrace.
The girls will wax lyrical about the view (it is breathtaking) and the ambiance and I will politely agree but as William Shakespeare once wrote (Hamlet, Act l Scene ll) “It’s all about the ‘char’ baby!”
If you get the chance get yourself here, you will not be...

Food * Ordered a chicken skewer with tzaziki, rice, and bread. When the food arrived, the tzaziki was a drizzle of green sauce on top af the chicken, and the bread was missing. I asked about the bread for both myself and my daughter. The waiter then brought a plate with 4 small and very burnt slices of flat bread (lavash/wrap). It was meant to be the bread for my order only. I had to ask two more times in order to get unburned lavash for both of us.
Service * Mistakes (plural) were made with our orders. As an example, we ordered 6 desserts for our table but the two of them never came, so we had to ask for them again and wait again. This was the only time a waiter apologized. The 3 waiters who attended to our table at different times during our meal seemed friendly, but always in a hurry even though the restaurant wasn't filled.
Other * There were many flies in the restaurant meaning that we had to waft them off us and away from our food all the time. We had a table inside and the doors to the outside seating area were open so it is probably...

I never expected a restaurant to be the highlight of a vacation.
If you find yourself even remotely close to Mijas or Malaga, you HAVE to go to this place. Worth rearranging your whole schedule for.
It's on top of a hill in Mijas, and I would never have found this gem if it wasn't for a recommendation I got in Malaga.
From the second you walk in, you just know it's going to be good. The smell from the grill.. packed with locals, and then there's this guy... the owner; basically he's the Grill Dude. He doesn't just cook. The chef commands that grill. Mesmerizing stuff.
The eggplant with honey. Crispy, sweet, you'll be fighting over the last pieces. Prawns in pil-pil arrived, soaked in garlicky, spicy oil, we ended up mopping it up with bread, no shame. Ribs? man, the ribs. Smokey, fall-off-the-bone. And just when you think you can't eat another bite, they bring out the steak. No words can describe that steak. Best steak I've had in years.
I can't praise this place enough.
Remarkable,...
