Restaurante Las Cañadas — Restaurant in Mogán

A beautiful place with beautiful views, beautiful staff, beautiful turtles and beautiful food. This restaurant is located by the side of a main road, yet, it is not a busy road so it does not pollute the restaurant. There are stunning views of the mountains and palm trees are scattered over the property. The atmosphere is good, with Spanish music playing quietly in the background of the restaurant. The toilets are clean, but small and are built into the cliff under the restaurant, there is also a disabled toilet. There is disabled access through the area including ramps to the museum, turtles and toilets (yes, they have turtles). The staff are amazing and congratulated us on (trying!) to speak Spanish. The food was nice and felt very authentic, cooked on site in the kitchen. Overall a nice place with everything you could need. The restaurant is shut on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, there is no smoking and it is complete with a phone charger in case you need it. I like it here and from me, overall it...

Recientemente tuve el placer de visitar el Restaurante Grill Las Cañadas y quedé absolutamente encantado. Ubicado en la carretera de Mogán Pueblo a la Aldea de San Nicolás, este restaurante rústico y popular ofrece una experiencia que es difícil de igualar.

Las vistas del valle de Veneguera son simplemente espectaculares. Desde el pueblo de Mogán, el restaurante está a solo 10 minutos en coche, y desde la Aldea de San Nicolás, a unos 25 minutos. Si tienes tiempo, te recomiendo que te aventures hasta la playa virgen de Veneguera, un trayecto de unos 40 minutos que vale cada segundo por sus impresionantes paisajes.

Abren a las 9:00 de la mañana, y es el lugar perfecto tanto para locales como para turistas. Sus tapas canarias son una delicia y puedes elegir entre media ración o ración completa. Probé los quesos canarios fritos, garbanzada, papas arrugadas, morcilla dulce, codillo asado y entrecot.

Hacen los zumos recién exprimidos. Con una base de jugo de naranja, puedes añadir plátano, mango, papaya, melón o cualquier fruta de temporada disponible. La frescura y el sabor de estos zumos son inigualables, y el despliegue de frutas y verduras en la entrada es impresionante.

Además de la comida, el restaurante ofrece un pequeño museo etnológico canario que no debes perderte. Las casas de granjeros renovadas cuentan la historia de la vida en la zona a través de antigüedades y utensilios tradicionales. Es una manera fascinante de conectarse con la historia local mientras disfrutas de una deliciosa comida.

Si estás planeando una excursión por la isla, te recomiendo encarecidamente que hagas una parada en el Restaurante Grill Las Cañadas para almorzar o cenar temprano, ya que cierran a las 20:00. Incluso si no tienes mucha hambre, vale la pena visitar el lugar, dar un paseo, respirar el aire fresco, y disfrutar de un zumo de frutas o un café.

Además, en la pequeña tienda canaria de la entrada puedes encontrar souvenirs y productos típicos como miel, ron, aceite de oliva y productos de Aloe Vera, todos hechos en Gran Canaria o en las vecinas Islas Canarias.

Como nota a mejorar el entrecot estaba bueno pero demasiado grasiento para mi...

Wir waren schon einmal hier und aufgrund der schönen Lage wollten wir unbedingt nocheinmal herkommen. Wir lieben GC, die Menschen, die Mentalität-fast alles. In diesem Lokal hatte ich aber das erste Mal seit sehr vielen Besuchen das Gefühl unerwünscht zu sein und das hat mich verdammt traurig gemacht. Unsere Bedienung hatte kein Lächeln für uns übrig und wirkte sehr kühl uns gegenüber, obwohl wir freundlich und in Landessprache uns unterhalten haben.Wir haben lange gewartet bis wir zum ersten Mal essen bekommen haben, zumindest meinen Teil.Zwei andere Tische, die erst ca. 15min später kamen, wurden sofort bedient und der Umgang war wesentlich liebevoller vom Personal - bei diesen Tischen handelt es sich um Einheimische oder zumindest Spanier. Nach 25 min fragten wir ob wir denn unser Brot bekommen...die Vorspeise, die die anderen neben und vor uns sofort bekommen haben. Nachdem weitere Zeit ins Land ging haben wir bezahlt und sind gegangen ohne auf den Rest zu warten- ich habe mich einfach mies gefühlt und hatte aufrichtig das Gefühl: Touri, dich wollen wir hier nicht. Vielleicht haben wir einfach einen schlechten Tag erwischt, aber mich hat das mitgenommen. Das Essen ist wirklich toll und beim Laden hatte ich mir auch einige Dinge wieder kaufen wollen- das habe ich aber nicht mehr gemacht. Der Chef nehme ich an war sehr freundlich, aber von den Bedienungen kamen wir uns vor wie unerwünschte Menschen zweiter Klasse...ob die Bedienung einen schlechten Tag hatte, ob Bewusst oder Unbewusst eine Ablehnung gegen Ausländer, ich weiß es nicht. Jedenfalls war deutlich zu spüren, das wir nicht gleich behandelt...
