I recently had the pleasure of visiting La Frontera Smokehouse in Mogan after a long and exhausting bike ride. This hidden gem turned out to be the perfect place to refuel and indulge in some delicious smoked food. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with outstanding service and a welcoming ambiance that set the tone for a memorable dining experience.

Having heard great things about their offerings, I decided to go with the beef brisket, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations. I cannot for the life of me understand how does anyone give this place a rating higher than 1 or 2 stars. A previous review says don’t go even if you’re invited - we should’ve taken notes.

We waited more than 2 hours from the moment we arrived and about 1.5 hours from ordering until we got our food.

When the order finally arrived we were informed that on the sharing platter, that we specifically asked about what it included, didn’t have ribs - the part we were most interested in. The food is OK, but it isn’t outstanding.

Service is basically like a buffet, you get your orders taken by a waiter but only get table service for drinks, you pick up your own food. Taking this into consideration, the absolutely outrageous waiting times seem even worse.

Very different like the all of the other restaurants in the Island. I’m very happy to we find this amazing restaurant.

Unfortunately, the Island’s food and restaurants don’t make quality food, the most important is just prepare much much much… EXCEPT the Smokehouse La Frontera. The quality is extremely important for them and sure we get big portions as well! 😉
