Restaurante Casa Carmela — Restaurant in Muxía

Beautiful little spot. We wondered into this place after seeing it on google maps. We entered without any research. Now firstly, it’s not your typical restaurant, this is a very local home style eatery with service from a couple who appear to prepare food in their home kitchen (or at least that’s what it feels like). This is a good thing and adds to a very authentic personal experience. Now unfortunately I am ashamed to say that as British people our spanish is some what lacking, and no one really spoke a word of English. With the help of google translate however we were away. We had several seafood courses with fresh bread and a couple of soft drinks for about €20!

What a great, memorable meal for four people while we hiked the Camiño dos Faros. Percebes, berberechos, txangurro, arroz con bogavante, homemade flan, among other dishes--were all exceptional. The quality of the seafood is quite high, and Carmela's skill in the kitchen is notable. You need to reserve in advance and talk with Carmela or Antonio about what you want to eat. Increíble! No hay carta como tal tu llamas con anterioridad y le dices lo que quieres comer, ella te indica si lo tiene o no. Llegamos antes de la hora que reservamos y solo esperanos 7 minutos para comer el arroz con bogavante que encargamos para dos, tenia almejas tambien! Estaba sabrosísima y buen bicho el bogavante, riquísimo y mucha cantidad! Para beber pedimos vino blanco de la casa ya que todos lo pedian y fue una gran decisión. Con el arroz fue suficiente comenos mucho y lo acabamos pero por no dejarlo y porque estaba buenisimo. De postre pedimos una tarta de queso casero estaba tan rica que la devoramos y pedimos otra más. En definitiva, pan, botella de vino blanco de la casa, arroz con bogavante y almejas para dos, dos postres de tarta de queso casera y un cafe con leche de puchero, todo por 75€! Juzguen vosotros mismos, pero relación calidad-precio de diez! Eso si llevar dinero en efectivo ya que aunque tienen un datafono no tienen apenas cobertura y les da muchos problemas, no les cobran en algunos casos y salen perjudicados ellos, no cuesta nada llevar efectivo!
