Restaurante El Gallo — Restaurant in Nívar

The style of the restaurant is ancient, however, it makes the ambience homely. Altought it is huge. We recommend you to book for a table, because this establishment is so popular.

When my friends and I had arrived, we waited. If we had booked a table, we wouldn’t had had to wait.

We was eating while a band was performing.

We were ordered 2 bagels, of tomato, cheese and chicken breast, and a bbq pizza. It was so good that we ate it in minutes. The bagels was tasty, hot, cryspi and delicious, in contrast, the pizza was a bit oily, but edible.

The waiters are really kind with the costumers, however, they were so slow because the restaurant was full.

No sé cómo empezar.... es un restaurante al que hay que ir al menos, un par de veces al mes para aprender lo que es una cocina, un producto y un servicio de verdad.

Empezamos con las croquetas surtidas (1.5€ la ud), dátiles y roquefort (cremosas y perfectas), espinacas (inmejorable sabor conservando la textura de la espinaca), setas (maravillosas) y gambas al pilpil (geniales!!!); continuamos con ensalada césar, auténtica, ligera, sabrosa y fantástica; culminaron entrantes con un plato de guiso del día (estofado de ternera, que no se si sería cadera o babilla pero era mantequilla al igual que las papas) que poco envidia a los que hace mi madre.

De segundo fuimos a algo fijo, 1 kg de carne (pollo, cerdo, conejo y cordero) por probar un poco cómo hacen en el rte las diferentes carnes... y mejor imposible, un conejo para nada soso ni seco, las chuletillas de cordero buenísimas y el pollo y el cerdo muy muy sabrosos con una salsa ajada... sublime.

De postre nos sugirieron un tiramisu de fresones; simplemente delicioso y con fresones de verdad, no siropes ni aromas como el muchos sitios... aquí se notaba que tanto el sirope de fresa como el postre en general ha sido hecho artesanalmente y con profesionalidad.

Destacar sobretodo la atención de ese magnífico servicio, amables, profesionales y buenos recomendadores, que no dudan en decirte si llevas demasiada comida o no, porque ellos se nota que buscan la satisfacción del cliente, y no la cartera.

Nos engancharon para venir otro día porque básicamente sacaron arroces con entrecotte de vaca vieja (tenían más variedades) y lógicamente iremos a pasar un mal rato con semejante maravilla qe vimos.

Buen trabajo señores, tanto a cocina como a sala, y a vuestras 2 generaciones pasadas que por lo que veo, marcaron muy bien el camino a seguir para ser excelentes....

I went to El Gallo and I enjoyed a lot! The calçots were amazing, they were like giant spring onions dipped in a heavenly tomato sauce. I had so much fun peeling them and getting messy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they even gave us bibs to protect our clothes. The rest of the food was also delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were generous.
