Do not waste time reading any of the bad reviews. This place is awesome. Strategically located 24km from Santiago, you will definitely walk in front of it! It was not full as it is end of October, but it was busy enough. We were treated very courteously by a friendly guy and once a table outside was vacant, we moved without any fuss. The food was excellent. We had white bean soup, ginger lemonade and shared (between two) the gallego sanwich. All were tastefull. We did not have space for desert but had cortados, which were also top notch. Total price was 24 euros which, for the location, quality and quantity of food, was more than fair. Congratulations for a place I wish I could go for breakfast tomorrow, but along the Camino we only move forward.

The food and the waiter’s service was at a high standard to which we had not experienced before not only on the camino but in spain. The watermelon gazpacho blew my mind as a chef and it was also the first place I've seen to serve pints of beer. The total cost of lunch came to be less than breakfast 15km back and was 10 times better. Only shame was the bathroom was a bit messy but pilgrims can be like that so I’ll cut them some slack. Muchas Gracias Amigos.

This is a must stop, great, healthy lunch/ snack place 5k away from Pedrouzo. Great seating, inside and out. A good variety on the menu. We had the soup of the day, white bean tomato basil, which was outstanding. Our food came out right away. The service was incredible- spanish and/or english spoken. The menu is also bilingual with alergens noted at the bottom. This will be lunch our stop in the future on this leg of the Camino!

We almost didn’t stop at Marela, but one of or group needed to rest and we decided to have lunch at this spot. The atmosphere is phenomenal, with great energy and the waiter, Manuel, had a winning attitude.

The burger was sublime, served together with homestyle fries. The pesto pasta was even better and quite light for us to keep on our camino. Lastly we recommend the white bean soup, which had tasty flavors, and paired gracefully with the tomato flavor. The beer was chilled to perfection.

If you’re unsure where to stop, look no further. Marela Cantina...
