Unfortunately I had a poor experience here. The decor was beautiful and I wanted to enjoy a nice meal, but found the service felt abrasive and impatient. I wondered if the staff were feeling "burnt out" from a full season of supporting pilgrims.
I ordered fried eggs via google translate and they brought scrambled eggs that were luke warm. The toast was toasted so heavily that it crumbled everywhere when I went to eat it. This would be a perfect option for people who like very crisp toast. They also brought a plate with jam/butter that had an opened package of jam from a previous guest.
The one positive aspect of my experience was the americano, which was strong and hot. The eggs and caffeine did keep me energize for the next 20km of my walk so was grateful for the energy even if it wasn't my "perfect" meal.
I think the better option at this venue would be their breakfast buffet. I did look at the options there and it looked fresh and hot, but was more food than I wanted.
This breakfast was higher priced than other meals enjoyed on the Camino. It was 9 euros for 1 americano and the eggs and toast whereas other venues range about 5 euros for 2 fried eggs, tomato...
Read moreRestaurant is a class of its own. Serves food with finesse and a fine-dining-like style. The waitress was attentive and served our food in courses to ensure that we enjoy each course on its own.
We ordered 1 meal of the day 13euros garlic soup: hot refreshing without an overly pungent garlic taste, just the right amount seabream: cooked to perfection, seafood was very fresh. Even the potatoes drenched in olive oil were amazing. brownie: nothing great about this, was actually served cold, would have preferred to be heated up
Paella seafood and chicken 34 euros extremely large portion suitable for 3 hungry souls or even up to 4 small eaters. had an amazing char on the first layer of the paella which gave that extra flavour. Portion was generous with the seafood like mussels, prawns, scallops.
Only downside is that with this finesse quality comes with a bit of a finesse price. Recommended for those who want to unwine and do fine dining during the...
Read moreTo start with we were greatly disappointed while visiting this restaurant, as it had very good reviews. I will justify my low rating in several points below.
Service: the waitress did not care about the work at all and seemed as we were bothering her. I will not comment on hospitality standards but do not expect any.
Food was just bad. Starter: Scrambled eggs - when I have heard egg shells between my teeth, I was done eating. Main course: Lasagne - it was not the worst but similar to lasagna you buy in the store and heat in the microwave. Dessert: Egg custard 🤮 we left it as we started, it was like pudding with no taste.
I don’t know whether we kept finding all the negatives but there was no soup in the woman’s bathroom and the door in the man’s bathroom couldn’t be closed.
The only beautiful thing about the restaurant is the environment but please don’t get confused. Actually also the bean...
