Restaurante Venta El Barranco Marbella — Restaurant in Ojén

Venta Barranca is a great place to have lunch or even come for an great evening with cool music and great food.

It Is situated just outside Ojen near Marbella the venta has some very nice food. Also they have some Colombian dishes..

we tried the paella for two people I must admit it was very very tasty. We had the Pioneer mixer which is half shell fish and half chicken.

The staff are very friendly and very welcoming and made sure we knew everything on the menu before we even started to think about the food, they brought us a carrot cake on the house afterwards which was really really nice.

Will come back again,...

Sadly this venta did not live up to expectation. The service is friendly and efficient, but we arrived around 1:15 and the grill wasn't even lit yet. So it took a long time to get any food. When that food did come, it would not rate among the top simple eats restaurants we've tried in this area. The meat is of mediocre quality and a lot of gristle, the chicken very dry and the baked potatoes overdone (also I suspect reheated). Copious amounts of salt are used to try to introduce flavour, even on dishes intended for children. We would not return, nor recommend...

This is one of my locals where I have taken many international friends. Unfortunately the service and food can be average to terrible. Unfortunately many international friends will not return. Although I have told the owners they eithet dont care or don't listen. Tonight my friends walked out and I took them to one of the other locals where they were much happier. It's a shame as it has so much potential but let down by the cook...
