Sabore — Restaurant in Oliva

Ist visit last night, and won't be my last. Stands out from the crowd in every aspect. Airy and modern style, with plenty of space between tables, and able to accommodate large parties.

Out of the ordinary menu, and all of the dishes I saw being served were beautifully presented.

We got there early-ish on a Sat evening (without reservations) and watched the place fill up. Atmosphere was chilled and conversations from other tables didn't invoke the need to speak louder to make yourself heard that you get in many establishments.

Service was attentive without being intrusive. Courses arrived promptly, but we never felt we were being rushed.

I can only speak for my own Calzone Pizza, which was unquestionably the best I've experienced outside of Italy. My companions had no complaints about their choices.

If I had one 'disappointment', it was that the pasta choice was a bit limited... I love my pasta, and would have liked more to choose from... especially spaghetti dishes (spaghetti alle vongole, hint hint... so very difficult to find here in Spain).

A word to the owner, who runs around like a demented hare looking after his clientele... but always with a smile on his face... Respect for the work and love you put into...

Hoy domingo 28 de Abril (el GRAN DIA de las ELECCIONES) decidimos ir a Sabore a cenar, y digo esto porque hay un final feliz. La gerencia del local ha cambiado ya unas 3 veces de propietarios. Cuando estaba Vicente (primer dueño), salia todo caliente, rapido, exquisito y con más variedad en carta. De las siguientes veces el gerente Aktar bien, aunque algún que otro plato frío, al menos eso nos pasó en navidad. Pero esta vez, ha sido el remate final para ya no querer volver. La carta es, ni escueta, ni muy amplia... ha cambiado mucho. La encargada a nosotras personalmente, nos atendió bien, amable y atenta. El primer plato, chopitos rebozados, coincidiamos todas las de la mesa en que estaban duros. El plato principal escogimos pizza muy bien, y pasta con salsa de foie y boletus, la encontrábamos insipida, se podía comer, sin más. Los postres, espuma de tiramisú muy buena. Tarta de queso buena. Y el remate final, pararnos a tomar un chupito al cual invitaba la casa, mirar las votaciones en la pantalla de televisión y toparnos con el cocinero, de pelo largo, coleta, (xq no se si hay más cocineros, para poderlos diferenciar, lo detallo así) que estaba tomándose en la ventana de debajo de la televisión unas cervezas con su amiga, familia, no lo se, y empezar a mirarnos con borderia y a hacer comentarios de lo que yo y mis amigas estábamos hablando entre nosotras de las votaciones. Te diré algo, para que hubiera DEMOCRACIA tuvieron que morir millones de personas, y en este caso tu te lo saltas en el momento que primero te metes en conversaciones ajenas y segundo, no permites que las personas se expresen como les de la gana (siempre y cuando no hagan daño a nadie). Aún con sus comentarios y miradas fuera de lugar COMPLETAMENTE puesto que le jodia que mis amigas y yo estuviéramos hablando el tema de las votaciones, decidimos irnos y pasar de él. De todas formas, yo un trabajador que hace eso con los clientes no lo quiero ni en pintura. Como se nota q el negocio no es suyo... Con lo cual ni yo, ni las personas que estuvimos ahí volveremos a Sabore. Un...

This medium sized restaurant is positioned near the southern end of Olivia's CBD so not too many competitors in really close proximity. We didn't need a reservation this time but it does get busy, so if you want to be sure of a table probably better to plan and reserve. Good length menu, coupled with the option to go for Menu Noche, seemed to cater for most tastes. We opted for the Menu Noche and were suitably impressed. Food was tasty and fresh and servings were well proportioned. Definitely worth coming...
