Laguna Tavern — Restaurant in Orihuela

I first started to use this bar when the one next door closed down. Since my very first visit, my family and I have always been made very welcome by all members of staff and the owners; Paul and Jane. Consideration has been given by the owners for what the customers would like and need in their "local". Instead of it just being a bar, they provide space for the community to meet and take part in various activities, such as the painting classes, dancing classes, meetings of clubs and organisations, not forgetting the Knit and Natter group. The Knit and Natter group provide the knitted and crocheted Christmas Tree for the whole community and have recently been recognised by Scarves for Falklands Veterans for volunteering to produce scarves for UK military veterans of the Falklands War of 1982. As well as being a community hub, it is a fabulous bar and restaurant providing great service and quality products, whether you are popping in for a game of pool, to watch a football match, or take afternoon cream tea in the dining area or on the fabulous sunny terrace. The support given by this place for charity functions, events and groups should also be celebrated and highlighted. No matter what the cause, Paul and Jane are always willing and able to provide their support. The place to go if you love the sunshine, whilst also fancying a nice ice cold glass of wine! I love the terrace, as it's spacious so you aren't sat on top of other people. The staff are friendly and fun - nice to be able to have a bit of banter, whilst also receiving professional and friendly service! I have been to the art session, which was a relaxed and fun way to be creative whilst making friends, again with a lovely glass of wine! There's a theme here! Food is freshly made and tasty with good sized portions and we plan on going to the Paella night soon! Looks delicious and friends say it shouldn't be missed! this say all Awful Juli 2025 • FAMILY Good grief. Where does one start, this say alllumpy undercooked mash, undercooked roast potatoes, grizzly beef, wet overcooked veg - tiny bowl for a family! No gravy, no cutlery, cold, freshly out of the microwave lumpy dessert… Simply dreadful. Then, the owner may treat you to a bullying display. Nasty woman who vilifies staff in front of customers repeatedly, and seemingly as she enjoys it! Complete bustard. Incidentally, I got talking to two former members of staff in another bar who left because of Jane’s bullying, humiliating behaviour....
