La Terraza de Laura — Restaurant in Ortigueira

This was our last meal here in Spain before heading into Portugal. Ordered octopus galician style, steamed mussels and grilled scallops. Prices were really fair and the portions very generous, especially the octopus.

It's a lovely restaurant with many nice tables outside under the trees. And our Bulldog was welcome as well.

Staff was friendly. Food took a while, but is prepared freshly and you could tell. So really worth the wait. And the place was pretty full anyways.

The octopus was perfectly cooked. Tender, with a generous amount of potatoes and paprika spice. A great meal. The mussels were really fresh. And a good number of them. Could use a bit of more spice or broth though. The scallops again another great dish. Cooked to perfection. Before serving lunch there were some complimentary appetizers as well.

All in all a great restaurant. Wonderful dishes, freshly prepared. Nice location. Fair prices. Surely a place to...

'So so', as they say in Spain. The staff are not friendly, looking at you with half an eye, if you're lucky. My plate was not clean! Calamares not fresh or not well fried, too chewy, came with a slice of lemon that appeared to have been on the kitchen floor for at least a week before it was found and put on my plate.

Plus Kentucky chicken was lovely. Portions very reasonable sized. Our waitress...

Fuimos a tomar algo el Domingo por la tarde, nos sentamos en la terraza, pedimos un refresco y 2 helados, hasta ahí todo correcto. La camarera bastante desagradable pero bueno no le dimos importancia ya que un mal día lo puede tener cualquiera, con la consumición no nos pusieron nada, pero veo que en el resto de mesas tienen patatas fritas en unos cuencos acompañados con la bebida, esperamos a ver si nos ponen algo, vemos que sirven a otras mesas y ponen las patatas, a nosotros nada. Me acerco a la barra y le pregunto a la camarera si tienen patatas, yo con la idea de comprarlas ya que nos apetecía picar algo, me contesta que para vender no tienen, tampoco me ofrece las que ella puso en otras mesas.. pagué la consumición y me fui a la máquina del bajón de al lado a por unas patatas que no me pusieron. Sinceramente muy feo por su parte.. estaba de paso pero sé que...
