Couldn't give 0 stars. Very rude staff. I ordered 2 coffees that were unimpressive, bitter and unpleasant; a bit like the following interaction. [TLDR: Keep walking. Coffee is not that good]

Tortilla-gate!

I saw a freshly-baked tortilla on the counter right in front of me. I don't like tortilla so much but I was hungry and it looked freshly cooked. It was, actually, the nicest looking tortilla I'd seen in the last 36 days of walking. 'The Camino provides' a certain expertise in tortilla appraisal; I've had enough tortilla for a lifetime. I am heartily tired of unevenly reheated cold potato bound in leathery egg. At this stage, I don't usually give tortilla a thought when it's on offer and looking like it's old enough to vote. Fresh tortilla is a different beast altogether. I pointed and asked in my best Spanish (I know we understood each other) if I could have slice of THAT tortilla. He said yes, took the money for coffees and tortilla, made the coffees, gave them to us then walked away. My husband took the coffees and I waited and waited. Finally, a woman came out and asked me what I wanted. I said I was waiting for the tortilla. She went to the kitchen (I thought maybe to get a knife since the tortilla was an arm's length away). She came out with the thinnest slice of a cold tortilla which would have been yesterday's tortilla; all this was happening before 11am. I said I asked for a slice of the fresh tortilla in front of me and I didn't want the cold one on the plate. She kept saying it was hot but it felt stone cold to touch. Bizarre! She kept insisting that this was a tortilla, like i was an imbecile. She spoke with someone and it seemed they might heat it up but I reiterated that I had asked for and paid for THAT tortilla and that i didn't want the (pathetic) specimen in front of me . She kept insisting that it was a tortilla on the plate and that they were the same. If it was the 'same' then she could have cut me a slice but they weren't the same. I had asked for a slice of the fresh tortilla that was proudly on display but they wanted to give me a slice of old cold tortilla from out the back. I don't usually stand up for myself but it really bugged me that I was being treated as if I was stupid and that I should pay good money for a tiny slice of pricey misery on a plate. I'd rather have nothing. Eventually, she gave me my money back. They didn't have many customers when we were there. Maybe we just didn't get the memo...... In our last 36 days we have experienced the grace and warmth of spanish people. This is a 0.1% outlier in our time here....

A wonderful stop along el Camino de Santiago. I had melon and prosciutto with some Estrella Galacia beer. There was enough outdoor seating for our group to sit and eat comfortably. I loved the ant theme.

ESPECTACULAR
