Albergue-Restaurante Casa Cruceiro de Ferreiros — Restaurant in Paradela

Choose wisely your albergue!!!!. Regarding the rooms, you need to know that they are hot. If you are doing the Camino in spring or summer, you must be aware that the rooms aren’t comfortable unless you like the heat, and the beds are noisy.

In the restaurant, the food was pretty good but greasy. Despite all of the above, the worst thing was the service. The waiter had an accident and spilled boiling coffee on my leg and arm. I had to insist several times to the same waiter to get some ice, as she initially wanted to give me only two cubes for my entire leg and arm. After insisting, she finally gave us more ice. She and the rest of the staff never asked how I was doing and seemed more interested in whether my phone was okay rather than my well-being. She treated the situation as if it wasn’t a big deal and never asked if I needed any medical assistance. Fortunately, my companion and I are doctors, so we realized that the burn she inflicted by accident was second degree. Luckily, we had everything to treat it until I could get to a bigger facility. The worst part was that after all of this, she never even apologized to me. I wouldn’t recommend this...

We are loving our stay at Albergue Casa Cruceiro in Ferreiros, right around 100 kilometers from the finish of the Camino de Santiago. The building is modern and well appointed, with laundry facilities and our private double room is quite spacious and comfortable. Tonight we had dinner at their restaurant, in an older historic building right down the hill. It was exactly what we wanted and needed after a long day of walking, home style foods from Galicia prepared well and served with genuine care for our enjoyment. (The owner kindly advising us so we wouldn’t order too many tapas!) Loli and Simona also looked after us and were super friendly and helpful. The perfect end to a lovely day of walking in the rain. Quando tu caminas por una lunga calle, bajo de un sol muy caliente, poca agua a beber y la tu unica esperanza de llegar a un puerto seguro... ¡Mira!... Un espejismo... Como una oasis. Tu eres en Ferreiros y buscas un sitio lleno de buena comida (tradicional española), gente cariñosa y simpática y un ambiente calma y relajante. ¡Todo esto es Casa Cruzeiro! Ahora el día cambia y hay una nueva energía. 5 estrellas y un saludo especial desde Italia a la linda Loly!
