Comí a gusto y salí ligero.

Muchas...

During our travels through the North of Spain, we had an exceptional dining experience at Casa Marcial. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, even running to us with umbrellas when it started raining in the car park. The interior design was minimalist yet charming, with a Scandinavian touch and lovely local foliage arrangements.

Every dish was beautifully presented on unique plates, accompanied by fresh silver cutlery with each course. They also offered a cider tasting that perfectly complemented the cuisine, all of which was produced locally. As someone with professional cooking experience, I was highly impressed by the chef's skills and artistic presentation.

The food was truly outstanding, and each of the 20 courses provided an extraordinary experience. I especially admired the chef's dedication to using local ingredients, creating a culinary work of art. I'm already looking forward to returning to Casa Marcial to relish this delightful dining...

First things first, the food was really good and highlighted some classic dishes from Asturias such as Croquetas, Pitu, Bonito, Cheese, etc.

My biggest disappointment were 2 things: We mentioned a shellfish allergy on the reservation and even when we sat down. Two minutes later and the first appetizers include shellfish. They apologized and brought a different course. BUT 3 courses later, another dish that included the allergen. This behavior is not acceptable at a 2 star Michelin restaurant.

It was noted on the reservation by my partner that it was a milestone birthday. Not even a happy birthday received at any point during the meal. Very disappointed as we traveled from the US to this small village to celebrate a milestone and it was just ignored!

PERFECT BLEND OF TRADITION AND AVANTGARDE. Casa Marcial is run by chef Nacho Manzano and his sisters. They transformed their parents' humble eatery into a two-Michelin-star restaurant. Its scenic rural setting provides a stunning visual context for Nacho's cuisine, which is firmly grounded in Asturian traditions. His creations are not all that experimental but rather coherent and personal. There are two menus, which differ in size and concept. Prices are moderate, given the restaurant's superb quality. The longer menu costs €165 per person, and the shorter one €110. Wine pairing adds €65 and €50, respectively. For dinner, there's also a lighter menu for €80. While some dishes are more convincing than others, the overall experience is amazing. And the desserts are out of this world.

Great culinary experience in the middle of Asturias less known countryside. The restaurant combines modernity and classic elements in the architecture. The interior atmosphere is elegant, welcoming and with rustic elements. The service is attentive and flexible (two of us could enjoy the tasting menu while the other three chose a la carte). The dishes have a good balance between the local/traditional recipes & ingredients and modern elements and presentations. The only minus is that the place is very remote with a challenging access road (especially when it rains hard or there is fog) so unless you hire a car service or you have a generous designated (and experienced) driver, you will not be able to get the full gastronomic experience with wine.
