I don’t generally leave reviews, but the owner’s behaviour has prompted this one. The restaurant is lovely and the views are spectacular. Friendly service from the team, good food and it’s recommended for lunch and dinner. However, we booked one of the houses to stay in for 4 weeks. In the first few days we reported mice in the house with droppings in a number of locations, aggressive dogs loose outside the house which bark all night, broken electrical socket and light fittings. The owner managed to catch a mouse in a humane trap but showed little interest in resolving the other issues. There were a significant number of flies which didn’t seem to be present in other parts of Periana. We needed to remove flies from the pool ourselves each day before it could be used. Throughout our stay there were building works with large machinery landscaping in the first 2 weeks and extremely loud angle grinding for several hours in the morning and afternoon each day during week three. When reporting the noise the owner dismissed it, comparing it to an occasional car passing by. Having reported in the first week that the family was not sleeping and that we may need to move, we eventually left after 3 weeks. The owner had agreed to refund our money for the final week of our stay but was evasive about payment. We are still owed the money and the owner has now threatened us if we leave negative reviews, as well as saying that we are not suitable guests for his accommodation and should not stay there again. As if we’d want to. The owner claims we are lying, but our photos and videos...
Read moreOne of the most beautiful places I have seen since being in Spain for the past 2 weeks. The views are outstanding and staff are extremely friendly. The menus do have English descriptions so you know what you're ordering. The food was cooked to perfection and we had ourselves a 3 course meal to try as much as possible while we were there. All meals were perfect and dessert definitely topped it off as it was something I've never had before. The oranges with brown sugar are amazing and by mistake we discovered they are even better with the whisky that comes with the whisky cake. (yes they let you add your own whisky to your dessert which is really great so you can have it just how you like it. Would definitely recommend adding a little whisky to the oranges too hope the owners read this haha). The drive to the place may need a bit of a larger vehicle depending on which route you take but there is a tar route as well so don't be too worried about it. We went through the old train tracks and it was just breath taking. Would definitely consider this as a place to stay for at least one night based on the food and views alone. See...
Read moreAwesome place but the journey there was out of this planet. Sat nav took us up Mount Everest, we thought the SUV was going to go backwards. Then we went through an abandoned dirt track. When we arrived on the main road we got the eyes from the locals saying where the hell you coming from. (I’m sure that there is a better way to get there.) Anyway, we carried on up the hill (finally on a proper road) to hit nearly 1000m altitude only to find a superb restaurant with an amazing view to the valley and the lake. We were greeted by a really kind and cool waiter from Alcaucin. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the fried goat cheese starter. At the end of our dinner, we got a complementary bottle of bubbles to celebrate our first year anniversary. The experience was worth it 100%!!! Thank...
