Visited Faro de Formentor 15.07 2023. Access: The road is closed during summer time, and you will have to take a bus. This bus has a tap in/tap out system using your credit card. If you enter another bus (every 30minutes or so) within 2 hours the ride is for free. This lets you explore places on the way such as the viewpoint (stunning view with 260m drop) and Cala Figuera (pebble beach with wild goats) if youre willing to do the 10minute hike. Here i recommend shoes rather than sandals. The Lighthouse: Reaching the Lighthouse you gain access to a stunning view of the northernmost point of Mallorca and the mountains surrounding it. There is also a cafe selling simple food (baguettes, pizza slices etc..). The place loses a star due to the que at the parking lot where we took the bus from, even though we visited during high season the wait seemed a bit long.. Would reccommend if you have time to spare and are interesed in something unique. We spent around 4 hours on the trip in total (viewpoint, Cala Figuera and the Lighthouse).

Formentor Lighthouse on the island of Majorca offers a remarkable experience for those who appreciate adventurous trips. The journey to the parking area by car involves navigating through winding and narrow roads, which adds a touch of excitement for enthusiasts. The breathtaking views accompany travelers throughout both the car and bus rides. Once at the Formentor hill, the scenery continues to impress, with stunning vistas and a panoramic view of the sea from three different directions. At the summit, there is a restaurant/cafè bar, although we did not venture inside during our visit. We spent less than 10 minutes at the top, capturing beautiful photographs before returning on the same bus. It's worth noting that parking at the bottom is charged at a rate of 0.06 euros per minute, and payment can be conveniently made with a debit or credit card. These facilities add convenience to the overall experience.

Visited 12/10/2024 Sunny Saturday Afternoon. The following sharing are based on our unbiased personal opinion and experience Final destination of our entire day trip. The narrow mountainous road was indeed an experience and a challenging wan. with some parts of the road without barrier and avoiding the cyclists was not helping at all during the journey. With very limited parking lots in the location, we have to park at the side and wait for for the next available lots before we can get off and visit the lighthouse. We waited patiently for almost an hour before it's our turn. Some dropped off along the way. Do try to come early to avoid the crowd especially the tour buses load with tourist. And also to avoid driving back in the dark on the narrow mountainous road. Follow us for a gastronomic experience and discover the world finest in its purest form

We reached the destination at 17:00 so we had no chance to grab any refreshments on premises, but we did enjoy the view. Parking up there requires high skills too, lol. The road is crazy narrow most of its way and full of even crazier cyclists climbing at low speed or downhilling 100mph, not sure which one is more dangerous but it was a fun drive after all. I've been told we were lucky to reach the island this late in autumn, since by the end of September the access is limited to bus shuttle only and the place is really crowded. The place itself is not so cool to deserve so much attention honestly, but people seem to enjoy the drive more than the view. Drone flight is prohibited there due to some bird protection area, but we enjoyed a local cute goat used to take pictures with tourists, alas, no one offered a treat for such good behaviour, you know.

A must visit place when in Mallorca. There is not much to see at the location - there is a light house and a small cafe. But the drive and the scenery is what makes it worthwhile. The views are fantastic. Traffic is banned on the last 12kms of the road. And the only way to access the place is by using the local bus. I think this is a great idea as it gives everyone an opportunity to enjoy the views and also prevents traffic clogging the narrow roads. The buses ply every 20mins or so and are very comfortable. The drive along the hairpin bends is amazing. The cafe serves savoury items like pizza slices as well as baked items like croissants and maple & pecan plait along with smoothies and coffee. Do not miss this place.
