We stayed at this hotel for one night in February this year, when we were on the long drive from the south of Spain to U.K.. we thought then that it might be ‘our sort of place’. Now we have just stayed here for 3 nights in May and we know it is ‘our sort of place’! Where do I start? A lovely big bedroom with loads of storage, an extremely comfortable bed, a brilliant bathroom with space and a huge shower ( as well as a sunken bath) . There is a very convenient desk/dressing table with great lighting for make up, plug sockets just where you need them and best of all a large terrace for sun and shade. Parking is right outside and the hotel has its own good restaurant. But more than all of that, the family who run this hotel and restaurant and all of the staff who work with them are the most polite and generous people you could meet. We made a couple of special requests in the hotel and all of them were delivered with a ‘no problem’ and a smile. We are a couple in our 70’s who like the peace and quiet but this place is also very suitable for families with lovely facilities for young children. I would love to be able to bring the children in our family here and truly this hotel delivers on both the peace and tranquillity side as well as being...

Management is very relaxed and family-run, but professional. Ask for anything and they will happily find a way.
The attached restaurant is a regional draw, so breakfasts and lunches are placid, while dinners can be quite busy during high season.
The interior restaurant is a beautifully appointed historic space. Outdoors is very peaceful, far from any traffic but within earshot of the river. You can sit forever there.
Breakfast buffet is quite large, and kitchen items can be ordered. We did not have lunches there.
The menu runs from tapas to a fairly full list of gamier grilled meats and slow-cooked regional foods.
The infinity-edge pool is a lovely place to take a dip, although a second shaded area, or umbrellas, would be quite welcomed.
The surrounding area is excellent for...
