Meson Rodriguez — Restaurant in Portomarín

ABSOLUTELY awful. Avoid unless you like to give away your money in exchange for nothing.. wish I read reviews in advance.. miserable service and food exactly the same don’t think we have ever eaten so bad .. bland & tasteless looks very much like hospital food. Asked to speak to owner and waitress just pointed her to me and walked away(she knew what was gonna be the outcome) .. with that I tell you everything! Explained to her (while she was crouching on a chair cutting/washing lettuce in front of customers.. very high standards of hygiene?) that she should read reviews and listen to the customers experience.. she could only tell me that she had many happy customers and her “tips box” was full to the rim and the only people who complain are the unhappy ones?!.. I’m assuming they are still in business as they don’t rely on repeat business… good luck pilgrims.. better of making yourself a sandwich and avoid...

Usually I'm just writing about good places to recommend, but this is an exception. The only thing why I won't give just 1 star, is the fact that we were there out of season and the staff was nice. But the positive part ends here, the food was all microwaved, the green beans were grey, none of the food really tasted good, we ate a pilgrim's menu there, but I tell you that was the worst menu on my whole camino and I have eaten a lot.

The funniest thing was the postre, when the flan arrived in its very own plastic packaging and it was the most budget brand I can ever imagine, I couldn't help myself, I was just laughing so hard (I wouldn't say that it made up for the terrible food experience in overall).

All in all, you can definitely find better place to eat, if you want to have the worst pilgrim's menu of your life, then go for it, highly NOT...

I’m rating one star because I can’t give any less. The service was awful. We are a group of pilgrims, hungry and tired. We arrived around 2p. We didn’t get serve until 3:30p. Waitress kept ignoring us and even walked away when we were asking for our desert. Food was mediocre, especially the pork-no seasoning at all. Arroz con leche was disgusting.
