We made this reservation last minute and we didn’t know what to expect but we saw pictures of the restaurant and decided to go for it. What a wonderful decision. First the hotel has a Michelin star from 2024 and it is absolutely true. the room is very clean very spacious, the only complaint would be that the AC is not on because we were told that it’s only set up for heat at the time we made the reservation in late May, and the toilet seemed to be a little bit loose. We went for a walk around Rabade, very quiet small town that we fell in love with. For dinner at 8:30pm, we went to the restaurant, and they took us to the asador. At the Asador, the service was incredibly efficient and kind like we’ve never experienced in Spain. The menu is delicious. We started with artichoke hearts with jamón ibérico salt, delicious. The main dish was lamb leg that I 100% recommend. It was perfectly cooked. Delicate, tender, juicy. It was a great amount for two people. We had a local Cantabrico red wine. That was good. Bold and delicious. We ended with a house made cheesecake that was...
Read moreWe like the entire region and so we liked this area, too. Skip the industrial section and you will find lush green everywhere. For others, it might be a sleepy, dull town. We were met by a friendly lady at the reception and liked the welcome. She had difficulty finding a room with a double bed for us. The hotel wasn't very crowded so that probably means the management reserves better rooms for customers who do not book via reservation sites. The restaurant appears to be a popular place with the locals. The garden is green, well-kept and very child-friendly. There is ample parking space if you are driving. The ground floor has a lot of space: We did not quite understand why the breakfast is small and the breakfast area is kept to a minimum. Almost everything is served on a small counter, the size of a small table. Keep in mind: Noise might be a problem if those in the room next door are loud. The rooms are not...
Read moreWhile driving from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela we stopped in Rabade for the evening. Couldn't have been more pleased with this find. The room for $50 was extremely comfortable and well furnished. The staff was very professional and accommodating. The breakfast was $3 but very good. This is a nice hotel off the highway by maybe 3 miles and puts a little distance between yourself and any crowds pit stopping for the night as well. The city doesn't have much to offer for entertainment but the hotel restaurant is very good and affordable. I would classify this as a budget hotel based on price but it's well above that category We popped around the corner to Meson O Pazo's for Tapas and drinks. That as well is worth the outing. Great staff,...
