We have been in El Coll and stayed for a weekend there this spring. We were two couples and we shared one apartment of two bedrooms and one living room. It was early spring and still rather chilly and wet. The owner said he would start heating when we booked the apartment and when we arrived it was warm and pleasant. This place is not far from Rupit - a local landmark little town and spectacular waterfall of Sallent. El Coll is basically a big traditional farm, where a few modern and renovated apartments are offered for rural tourism visitors. It is situated in a magnificent place, on the top of the hill with magnificent views to the snowy tops of the Pyrenees. When dining in their local restaurant we could admire huge predatory birds gliding around. Wilderness is plentiful. In addition to that there are cows, horses, sheep and other animals around in the farm, therefore, the place is very much suitable for families with kids. I would also highly recommend to come there only to eat, especially if you are a carnivore. Their selection of meats, their freshness and preparation is fantastic. For 10 euros or so you can get a huge piece of pork/lamb/beef/veal etc... of tender and delicious meet, which probably is that good because it comes from this farm nearby. Their restaurant has a view to the Pyrenees. The owners are very kind people. They were kind enough and did not even ask for our IDs when giving us the keys to the apartment. Trustfulness of the kind that would be hard to find in urban environments. My compliments for the owners. I would certainly want to come back...

Read moreWe ate here with a large group, really our second time to eat here and both were excellent. Traditional Catalan country cuisine all very tasty and big quantities. Service staff are very friendly and responsive, they made sure that we were all satisied and nobody could leave here hungry. Even prepared our "doggy bag" by vacuum packing it into portions, all part of the service and very useful because you won't be able to eat it all! We did not sleep here but I'm sure the rooms and experience are wonderful, it's a great area for hiking and mountain biking, very kid and pet friendly. This is next to a real working farm so expect tractors to go rumbling by, adds to the country experience and the kids go crazy watching! Very much worth the effort to visit...
