KM 0 Experience 🌱 📍 Sadernes, Catalonia ⭐️ 5/5 💸 ££ 🍴If you're looking for a culinary experience that is both deeply rooted in tradition and passionately forward-thinking, @hostaldesadernes is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Alta Garrotxa ❤️ This small, rural restaurant takes the concept of Km 0 to the next level, crafting each dish with hyper-local ingredients. They call it "conscious cooking," and it truly shows in every bite 🍅🍆🥬 They source everything locally, much of it from their own kitchen garden, creating dishes that are fresh, seasonal, and deeply tied to Catalan tradition. During my visit, I was absolutely blown away by 3 standout dishes: Boneless Lamb Shoulder, their Pumpkin Cream with Roasted Pear, Hazelnuts, and Sage, and Fig and Blue Cheese Salad. After a long trek it was great to find this oasis and charge up on food and drink. The quality was fine but the menu is old school and offers very little beyond meat. There are also no ingredients listed the menu so even when we ordered a non-meat dish (fish) bits and pieces of ham were floating around (in the mayo sauce), which the vegetarian in our party found disgusting. Una pena poner esta reseña sin ni siquiera haber llegado a comer en este lugar (dado que no fuimos bienvenidos desde entrar por la puerta). Entramos al establecimiento pidiendo una mesa para tapear, preguntando si podía ser fuera (solo había una mesa ocupada). El hombre que nos atendió nos trató de “mentirosos” porque yo le pregunté por una mesa para comer, pero queríamos tapear. Si nos hubiese dicho que no, hubiéramos pedido un plato o lo que fuese necesario, pero sin dudarlo un instante empezó a interrogarnos con actitud desafiante, preguntando si llevábamos coche y si lo que queríamos era hacer uso de su aparcamiento, todo de muy malas formas para, textualmente, “no hacerle perder el tiempo”. Finalmente, nos acabó cobrando 10€ por dejar el coche en su parking. Después de la incomodidad, preferimos pagar eso a sentarnos a comer ahí, ya que no éramos bienvenidos y su trato lo dejó muy claro. Sinceramente, una auténtica pena pasar por una experiencia así en un lugar tan bonito, desde luego si vais a hacer la ruta y queréis evitar sentiros “persona non grata”, recomiendo saltaros la entrada a este lugar. Por último, y tras leer las reseñas de otros usuarios y comprobar que no hemos sido los únicos afectados por la mala educación de este señor, recomiendo al personal ser más amable con la gente que venimos inocentemente a pasar un día en la naturaleza.
