Gran Buffet Libre Girona G.B.L — Restaurant in Salt

Very good food and unbelivable choice! I have never ever seen so many different food in one place. They have anything you could only imagine and even more. The place is very clean and well kept not like the chinese all-you-can eat. I think this is a spanish management and it is very good. The only thing they don't have are the fresh oysters. Any other type of clam fish and mussels as marinated so cooked is on display. There are 3-4 types of salmon and about 20 different types of other fish like squids, bacalao, sardines etc etc The price is 16.50 during the week and 19.90 on weekends. Everything is included, you have unlimited beer and wines and sangria and sparkling wine (of a bad quality though). Also any soft drinks and some digestive liquors are included, as well as coffee, many types of tee and herbal infusions. If you prefer meat to fish you will be more than happy here as well. They have an incredible choice of fresh vegetables and fresh fruit. Our visit was on Sunday lunch in February and there were fresh strawberries, 3 different kinds of melon and even fresh watermelon and many other kinds of fruit. Good choice of desserts and even 2 fontains of white and black chocolate. I would highly recommend to come at the opening time on Sunday (Sunday opening time is 12.30-17.00). We came at 12.45 and it was paradise: we could choose a table we preferred, got many personal attention and help with our jackets. The food was freshly displayed and just cooked. Just after 1 hour it was a real hell: a very long queue and a real mess around buffet. We have seen people waiting for a table for more than 40 minutes. It is a great place. We made a stop over on our way by car further to the south. We found it in the internet. The food is great, fresh, it is all clean. They have meat and also vegetarian food. My wife speaks Spanish, and the head chef helped her with some recommendation (this was because of an allergy of our daughter, to understand what she can eat). The head chef was very friendly, made great recommendation and made it an even greater stay. Her also made recommendation of typical local food in the Girona region. Disappointing Experience, Overpriced and Poor Quality Food

We were extremely disappointed with our visit. The buffet is certainly large, but unfortunately, quantity does not make up for quality. Most of the food tasted stale or reheated, and nothing we tried felt fresh or well-prepared. We could barely eat anything on our plates.

They charged €28.50 per adult and even €8 for a one-year-old, which would have been acceptable if the food had been good. But given the overall quality, the pricing felt unjustified and excessive.
