Las Cochiqueras — Restaurant in San Agustín del Guadalix

Update: My family and I have attended Cochiqueras pretty much every Friday evening for the past few months. I felt the need to come edit my review after seeing some negative feedback here from other customers that i find ridiculous and quite honestly, rude and deceiving. The service offered by the entire staff is one of their key attributes, followed by their incredibly fresh and tasty food. If you expect the bathroom decor to be akin to the W hotel or a fancy 5 star restaurant as they have in the center of Madrid, you may be disappointed - but it is a normal bathroom with zero higiene concerns as far as I can see and if your motivation of going to a restaurant is your bathroom time.. then maybe you should just stay home. I have been to several high end restaurants in Madrid, as well as many other cities around the globe and would gladly give up an evening in any of them for an evening at Cochiqueras' family environment, enjoying their delicious Churrasco with some nice Rioja. The more we have gone there, the more we enjoy the place and I have never witnessed any surrounding tables having any bad experiences either. Quite on the contrary, the ambience is always very positive, festive and warm - like a big friends and family gathering over a holiday.

I will finish by stating I have ZERO affiliation with the restaurant or its owners/staff. I worked in the hospitality industry in my early twenties and spent a very respectable amount of hours serving food and drinks. My review is a result of being a happy customer baffled by a few (rude) reviews I read here that are the polar opposite of what our experience has been. If you have never been there, don't let those deter you in anyway!

Amazing choice. Let me start by saying that as my family and i arrived at around 930 pm, the parking lot was not very well lit and felt a bit sketchy - we wondered if we had made the right choice by bringing our 3 small children out to dinner here. Boy, were we wrong. As soon as we walked in, it felt as if we were walking into a family owned restaurant in Aspen or something of the likes. Greated with a smile and warm attentiveness by anyone who worked there, the service was fantastic. Super friendly, efficient, yet no one trying too hard or breathing down your neck. The atmosphere was very pleasant, spacious and cozy with a nice fireplace at the end of the room. Guests around us seemed very happy and we quickly understood why. The food was 5 stars, tasted delicious and homey, very fresh ingredients and cooked very tastefully. All in all, a very pleasant experience and one to repeat without a doubt. If you are looking for a nice spot to eat, be it with your family, significant other or a group of friends - this is a great choice.

Ha the food there! Beautiful! If you like meat this is the place. The cow with liver (vaca con foie), the pig (chorizo or prensa ibérica) or the beef (churasco) or almost anything else really. I've been there many times and enjoyed it every time. Booking essential ! And several more visits in 2018 ... still great food and atmosphere, did I mention the huge terrace with bar (when the weather allows it - which is often), I found the service a bit too speedy lately (haha, customers generally complain about the opposite). Tenía varias referencias de este lugar, contacté el día de antes para reservar en horario de comida, hay tanta demanda, que tienen dos turnos 13:30h y 15:30h. Escogimos el de las 15:30h, llegamos 10 minutos antes y teníamos la mesa ya preparada. Las instalaciones están en un camino a las afueras del pueblo con parking para vehículos aunque eso sí, con mucho polvo pues es una camino o pista de grava. Tiene un amplia carta y variedad de productos, siendo el cerdo, como no, la especialidad en todas su variantes. También hay variedad de productos del mar, ensaladas y postres. Los precios son razonables y las raciones están acorde al precio. El servicio ágil y atento. Los crujientes de oreja están muy buenos, es un plato muy recomendado, pulpo a la parrilla, bien presentado, al tirante y el puré de calabaza mejorable pero en general el pulpo tiene un sabor intenso. Las costillas están muy buenas, carne tierna y muy jugosa y considero que el precio por la ración que presentamos está muy bien. También pedimos solomillo (se nos olvidó hacer la fotos), con un punto muy conseguido, la carne muy tierna también, aunque no fue el plato que más nos gustó y sin embargo, es el de coste más elevado. Es muy buena opción por la variedad de carta que tiene y sobre todo el hecho de que vaya tanta gente es por algo. Recomendado valoración particular 4/5. - Inconveniente: Siempre hay mucha gente y es frecuente que haya muchas familias con niños pequeños, pero todos hemos tenido niños...
