Restaurante EL GRIFO - Mozaga — Restaurant in San Bartolomé

VERY good. Stumbled upon it by accident as it was one of the more expensive looking restaurants in town but was the only one open late on Monday night and was eight next to our airbnb so we thought we'd give it a try. Others had the same idea and we were the 5th of 6 tables to be seated in short order.. But the server was fantastic and made good recommendations. Food was delicious and really looked like art as well. Everything was great and i recommend giving the place a try if you're in town.. What a lovely place! We arrived and thought the restaurant was closed but don't let yourself be fooled, the restaurant cannot be seen from the street, you have to walk towards the back. The service, the food, the atmosphere, everything was too our taste: big windows with views, tempo of service not fast nor slow, staff so friendly. Food ..... oh delicious! We had crocettas and shrimps to die for! Then the rice with pompoen and also shrimps. So tender! Loved it! A bottle of 'el grifo' - local wine, went perfectly with this all. Terrible place and we didn't feel welcome at all. The food is oké but the service is terrible bad. If you really want to taste the food then prepare for being ignored at the door, tricked with the bill and very long serving times as the lady is serving all guests alone. If you want to have a great ambience, friendly obers and real perfect food I recommend to walk 300 meters further and go to "Teleclub Mozaga" - this is where the Spanish locals go.
