RESTAURANTE MIDAS — Restaurant in San Roque

The prettiest part of this restaurant is the terraced garden and yet it can not be seen so well from the main floor of the restaurant. Midas is located in the old cortijo of Valderrama. Faux classical architecture. The tables on the lower terrace were not bedecked with crisp white table cloths as were the ones on the main floor. The food was delicious and it’s a lovely wide ranging menu so you could go back every week and not get bored. Service was great but it is very hard to book as they do not always answer the phone. Note this is where the old Cabana was located until about three years ago. Midas was in the Marina in what is now the MiM hotel and what was then The Club Marítimo...

We ate here during a recent stay in nearby Manilva. This restaurant is in a lovely location on the marina in Soto Grande - by far the most upscale development we found in the area.

We had a really lovely experience here. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was really good. I ate the leg of Lamb which was tasty and beautifully presented. My wife had a lovely Tuna dish which she raved about. We also had beautiful dessert - Lemon Meringue Cake for me, which was rich and buttery and lovely, and my wife had the Chocolate Coulant which she loved.

If you're in the area, you could do much worse than eating here. It's a step up from other towns and...

Very excited about the location. The food was average and took ages. Main dish arrived when we were still eating our entrees Service was absolutely awful.... non existent! The waitress didn’t even know which side to place the fork, mixed up orders and drinks, didn’t have a clue what she was doing..... tried asking another young guy for side dishes that were missing, but he preferred to go and clear a table?!? Head waitor explained ”our staff is all new, they will be good in 6 months!” BIG mistake...
