Ristorante Bucintoro — Restaurant in San Roque

First time visit while we had family and friends over. Had been on our hitlist for a while as so close by, but we had never been. I will definitely be back. The food was really nice but the service was exceptional. We had a messy baby with us and a friend with several allergies and the staff were all very knowledgeable and extremely helpful with all of this. One word of warning though, I thought the portions (particularly for the starters) were quite large. Delicious, but large. You may wish to think about 3 sharing starters between 4 people or something like that. The bowls of pasta were really tasty ( I particularly enjoyed the spinach ravioli with cream cheese and walnut sauce). The tiramisu is probably top 5 I've tasted (the others being in Northern Italy or made by my friend's Italian gran). Everything came really pretty quickly and the staff created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I thought the prices were actually pretty good for the experience too and I'm reasonably sure that my wife's Amatriciana had real guanciale in it, which is a real bonus. Everything was really enjoyable, from the curried hummus amuse bouche, to the albariño wine, to the pasta to the desserts. Special mention again for the waiters who really took a lot of care with our guests and always seemed happy to do anything for the diners. This place really ticks all the boxes for a special meal out. I have been coming to this restaurant on and off with my family, usually to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries. It is Italian food so if you are looking for something else then this place is not for you but if you are a fan of Italian food then this is one of the best places around the area. The waiters are friendly and ready to please the customer. In summer, the outside terrace is lovely. It is one of my favourite places in the area. I would advise that if you choose the foccacia for starters, make sure to share it, and it's plenty for at least 3 people to share. This is hands down our favorite pizzeria in the area! The quality of both the dough and the toppings is just outstanding (honestly, the best we’ve had). They have wonderful classic options — and their porcini mushroom pizza is something truly special, you won’t find it anywhere else around here.

The service deserves a mention too: always warm, friendly, and attentive, which makes every visit a pleasure.

Our kids absolutely love coming here because of the little “chupito” of apple syrup they get — served just like a cocktail, it makes them feel so grown-up and adds to the fun.

And don’t miss the Bucintoro olive oil! It’s won multiple international awards, and we always enjoy it with the pizza.
