Restaurante La Ratatouille — Restaurant in Sanet y Negrals

We (me, the wife and her parents) were staying in Sanet y Negrals for a birthday treat (father in law's 70th) and decided to eat out as a change to the usual BBQ fare. What a great idea! This restaurant opens at 19:00 for dinner service and we arrived at ten past. We were immediately asked if we had a reservation - a reservation? It was early March and the town was deserted! People must come from miles around to eat here, and now that I have, I can understand! Anyway, the manageress managed to get us a table and we settled in to study the menu. The choice was awesome, there was something for everyone, including vegetarians! We decided against a starter so we could have a dessert instead - clever - and the house red to drink. The wine was fantastic - one of the finest reds I have had at home or in a restaurant! We chose the rack of New Zealand lamb (twice) and the fillet of beef (also twice). Both choices were, by unanimous decision, some of the finest food we have ever eaten, I have never had a better steak in my life and I didn't even need a steak knife - the meat just fell apart when the normal knife went anywhere near it! I also had a cheeky taste of my wife's lamb and that, too was awesome! Once the mains were out of the way, we were presented with the dessert menu and chose four different delights, all of which were fabulous! We had a great time at the restaurant - about 3 hours all told - and at no time did we feel rushed or in the way despite arriving without a reservation. Our meal included 2 bottles of the house red (awesome), mains and dessert (and also a fab salad and pate, speciality of the chef which we were not charged for) and it came to a very reasonable 160 euro. If you are in the area, you simply have to eat here. You would regret it if you missed...

We ate here last night (6/11/19) for our friends birthday. We were warmly welcomed and seated to our lovely table. The menus were fabulous, I chose from the main menu and our friends chose the Game menu with the set courses. Food was amazing and cooked to perfection! The service was professional from start to finish and it really was a lovely fine dinning experience. We can’t wait to go back and try...

This fantastic restaurant has an excellent, seasonal menu and in our opinion is worthy of a Michelin star!
