A hidden gem in the countryside of Ibiza that I discovered thanx to a friend that lives in the island. I was mesmerized cause Raco is an absolute green paradise, I needed a place to get connected with nature, smell flowers, be surrounded by so many trees, listen to nice lounge and soulful non commercial music, see normal people not the type of show off superficial ones like in the fancy venues. I loved the vintage atmosphere and I payed attention to every single detail, like the lights hanging from the palm trees, the playground with the swing and seesaw, the indoor room with table games like ping pong…the whole decoration in general was with wooden furniture and again, everywhere u turned to look u could see flowers and trees. The swimming pool is not huge but enough to accommodate the guests who as i noticed mostly were couples (thankful that there were no families with kids to spoil the relaxing tranquility ). They also have massage service but didnt use it at that time but for next time will do for sure. The food was delicious, and the prices normal, we paid 50 euro minimum spend including our sunbed and umbrella. Last but not least what made me and my partner feel great was the friendly atmosphere by the staff and the owner who didnt stop going around the place making sure the place was perfect, I mean he would pick even the one leaf falling from the tree. He gave the place this family atmosphere that you are not visiting a business but a friend’s...
Read moreMy friend and I (both of minority backgrounds) did not have a good experience with the owner who yelled at us about a non-issue. He stood in front of us & stared at us for a long time. Then my friend's towel fell on the floor while he was relaxing on his sunbed and the owner proceeded to yell at him. (I note that five other guests near our sunbeds did not keep their towels on their sunbeds). The hotel manager apologised to us twice and she asked him to leave us alone (he was sat behind us staring and laughing).. very odd experience! Regardless of the 'towel scandal', all clients should be treated with respect and certainly not yelled at/made fun of. Sadly, his behaviour made us leave the hotel after spending €100+ and not finishing our drinks. I can see from previous reviews that the owner has anger issues and a habit of policing guests. However, the staff and manager were very respectful and responsive. Overall we had an amazing experience in Ibiza at other locations with friendly and professional staff such as Playa Soleil, Beach House & La Solera so this one bad experience definitely did not ruin...
Read moreRaco... what a magical place!
I was only due to stay for two days, and in the end - I stayed for 12 nights!!! Why? Quite simply, Raco manages to pull off something that many 'boutique' hotels aspire to, but in reality is very difficult to pull off: to create a space for their guests that is both a little island paradise, but also a home away from home.
The food, the beautiful pool, the Petanque area, the fruit stall and generally the incredible design, all add to the charm of the place, but what really makes Raco shine are the incredible people.
Without effort or artifice, Regina, Diego and the rest of the Raco tribe, instantly made me feel like I was part of the family - all whilst maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and service. If I could keep the place as my own little hidden gem, I really would, but writing a few words was the least I could do to say thank you!
Thank you guys...I hope to be back...
