Les Escales Bistró — Restaurant in Sant Cugat del Vallès

After almost 2 years of dining here and recommending this fantastic bistro to friends and family, I've decided to leave my first online review, why? Because we've just got home after eating what can only be classified as "The Best Cannelloni I've had in my entire life"! As usual our lunch began with one of their amazingly combined and balanced vegetable cream soups, Parsnip and Apple with finely chopped fresh chives and a few pomegranate arils to add to decoration and taste. Delicious is an understatement.

The combination of top quality minced beef, a lack of (typical) béchamel overload, delicious cheddar-like melted cheese and the mouth watering addition of the gravy-influenced stock is what made the cannelloni so unique and at least five steps above any traditional concoction of the same dish...

To finish up, we had the stunning pumpkin, orange and chocolate dessert.

One thing I know for sure, but continue to have no doubt about is that, if I lived a little closer, I could probably eat at Les Escales at least...

A little treasure in the heart of La Floresta. Although not the easiest to arrive by public transportation this is a MUST! Both brunch (or breakfast) and lunch are very healthy and tasty. The atmosphere is very cozy, a mix of vintage, industrial and plants. The waiters are very kind. They have a tiny shop at the entrance with cute stuff. Be aware, there are stairs at the front, but you can access them with a wheelchair or trolley by the back door. Best to ask for: soup of the day empanadas desert: get...

Un restaurante muy acogedor. Diego, el propietario, muy atento en todo momento y facilitando la elección de los platos, recomendando las mejores alternativas en función de en qué dudábamos.

La comida, excelente, tomamos -a repartir entre dos- una pizza de escalivada y mozzarella que estaba muy buena y crujiente. Y dos empanadas, una de carne, huevo duro y olivas, y otra de nueces y gorgonzola. Y, de postre, dos trozos de tarta de limón. Salimos satisfechos y con ganas de volver.

Fuimos con dos amigos, que son quienes nos descubrieron el restaurante, ubicado en el antiguo "Forn" (panadería) de la floresta, y realmente fue todo un acierto. Tienen una salón interior, arreglado con mucho gusto, con mesas de madera y una agradable y cálida decoración vegetal, en consonancia con el espíritu ecológico del local, que se percibe de inmediato en su carta, en la que encontrareis platos todos con un enfoque natural y ecológico y, además, varias especialidades para veganos e, incluso, algunos platos pensados para clientes con celiaquía, por lo que si queréis un restaurante que centre su carta en estas especialidades, no lo dudéis.

En resumen, un local curioso y una carta excelente. Volveremos, con otros amigos y familiares, para hacerles particulares de este encantador...
