Ida Can Machino — Restaurant in Sant Jaume d'Enveja

This was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for pretty much anywhere to eat before driving back to BCN after an exhausting couple of days at the 2018 Concurs de Castells in Tarragona followed by a fairly active couple of days birdwatching on the delta. We tried Eucaliptus Beach first with low expectations and it was closed for the season so we took the back road into Els Muntells and this was the first place we found.

Our expectation from the outside was that this would be a fairly standard Catalan village restaurant with a cheap menu del dia, which would have been found and the MMA fight on the TV as we walked in did nothing to dispel this. However we were shown through to a pleasant, airy restaurant at the rear.

The menu was excellent and prices were higher than we'd guessed. It was quite busy and all the food being brought out looked splendid. I have an allergic reaction to some seafood so some of the more interesting menu items were out of bounds to me (did I see Sea Nettle on there?) but there was plenty that was available. I had canelons and lamb whilst she had fish soup and entrecot. All very good indeed. Delta restaurants tend to be pretty good and now we have another to add...

Najniższa nota jaką kiedykolwiek wystawiłem. To była nasza pierwsza wizyta w Hiszpanii.Po tylu znakomitych recenzjach naszych przyjaciół o Hiszpanii postanowiliśmy zmienic kierunek wakacyjny na Hiszpanię właśnie. Znaleźliśmy lokum na airbnb juz w styczniu. Restaurację poleciła nam właścicielka domu, pierwsza kolacja zaraz po przyjeździe zmęczeni, ale spragnieni gościnności i pysznego jedzenia. Nigdy byśmy nie przypuszczali, iż należy się pilnować nawet w restauracji, która została nam polecona. Sugerowaliśmy sie jednak tym, iż nie będzie nikt nas chciał naciągnąć w Els Muntelles gdzie wszyscy się znają i jest dwie restauracje na krzyż. Po pierwsze, brak komunikacji z kelnerem, brak informacji w jaki sposób się serwuje menu, dla dwojga, czy minimum dla dwojga? Po drugie totalny brak uprzejmości o gościnności nie wspomnę. Musieliśmy naszą łamaną hiszpańszczyzną sobie radzić. Po trzecie 120euro za dwoje dorosłych i dwoje dzieci to trochę za dużo. Zjedliśmy paella plus house wine x2 plus tapas bagietka plus deser crem brulle plus sałatka plus dwie cole plus dwie espresso to jednak sporo jak za miejsce nowhere, nieuprzejmość i arogancja.

Podsumowując jedzenie było ok poza kremem brulle. Kelner dostał 10 euro napiwku a nam się nogi ugięły kiedy zobaczyliśmy rachunek. Chcieliśmy się zachować z klasą i dlatego zapłaciliśmy oraz zostawiliśmy napiwek. Niech się uczą kultury, ale niech też pamiętają, że nie należy naciągać ludzi. Wstyd dla całej Katalonii. Dla porównania jedliśmy w innej restauracji przy plaży i koszt jeszcze większego zestawu z owocami morza takimi jak langusta i ostrygi zapłaciliśmy 80euro i to było naprawdę wykwintne z miłą...

Una gran decepció El primer de tot, he de dir que soc cuinera i que cada cop em costa més quedar satisfeta quan menjo fora de casa. Pero al Delta mai havia quedat tan desabuda com avui. Tenía espectatives amb Can Machino, un puesto que no enlluerna amb la seva decoració i amb un ambient local que sembla que es garantía d autenticitat...pero desgraciadament no ha estat així, Hem fet un menú de 42 €, tampoco no es un menú económic, l unic económic es el saber fer a la cuina. Tres entrants, pop a la gallega, inmengable, el pop dur, aigualit i sense cap sabor sobre unes patates també aigualides i reescalfades, sense sal i amb un pebre Roig industrial i de pésima qualitat, después unes cluises bullides i ficades en una falsa marinera feta amb tomaquet fregit de pot, amb una picada feta al turmix i ví Blanc amb tot el seu alcohol, per continuar amb uns calamars fets amb anella congeladada de baix preu i un arrebossat pasable. Esperant que amb l arrós s arregles el tema, ( perqué collons! estem al Delta, aquí es un pecat cagarla) ja només veure aquell groc de colorant alimentari que no aporta res, he vist que no anava be la cosa... 2 gambes llagostineres de baix cost, unes gambetes petites i uns musclos , que eran el millor de la paella i el punt i qualitat de l arrós que no era dolent, el caldo de pot i el sofregit de pot també, tot aixó aconpanyat d un vi de 2 € al súper han fet que tingues ganes de fer un simpa sobradament justificat. Sort ( per a ells) que tinc 60 anys i artrosi al genoll... Una llastima de día tot plegat i aixó que m estimo el terrirori i la...
