We arrived as a group of four without a reservation. At first, the staff were friendly and gave us a table — so far, so good. A little later, a friend of ours, nine months pregnant, joined us just for a coffee and a glass of water. I politely asked the waiters for an extra chair, but after five minutes nothing happened.
I went to speak with the manager to explain the situation and, to my surprise, he told me that “there were no chairs available,” even though there were several empty tables (reserved but not yet occupied) and it was already around 5 PM. In the end, it was another table next to ours that kindly offered us one of their chairs.
When I pointed out to the manager that it would have only taken a bit of attention and common sense, he reacted in an aggressive and rude way, telling me that we were no longer welcome and that they would no longer serve us. Shortly after, the owner came over with an even more arrogant attitude, saying, “This is my house, I decide who gets the chairs and who doesn’t.” And he also said to all the tavle that untill i was seating there, no more food, water and nothing elase will be served, my friend asked for a coffe and they bring the bill. Incredible!
It was humiliating and unacceptable, especially towards a pregnant woman. We got up, paid, and left, completely shocked by such a lack of respect and professionalism.
Ibiza has plenty of excellent restaurants where courtesy and respect are the norm. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. Absolutely not...
Read moreThe first time I visited this charming restaurant I was completely thrilled. The family restaurant is situated in a special spot on a left path right after Es Cubells (village), where you can enjoy a fantastic lunch or dinner with the beautiful beach just right there.
In regard to the food, not only the 'fideuà' was exquisite but the 'roja' that I ate (a very iconic fish from Ibiza: Scorpaena scrofa) was delightful, cooked and served at the perfect time!
Moreover, I have to mention that the environment in the restaurant was filled with special vibes as everything there was as familiar as close. That made us feel very comfortable all the time, and for me this is a must, everytime I pick out a good restaurant.
The menu is also provided with an exquisite wide selection of wines chosen by his wonderful sommelier. Moreover, the best champagne bottles are also available.
Last but not least we were served three unique home-made desserts. The lemon cake, the cheesecake and banoffee were so tasty that it made our mouths watering!
The staff were very attentive and motivated that says a lot about how glad they are to be working there.
To sum up, I could not be happier as it's an excellent value for money! I have no doubt in repeating ‘Ses Boques experience’ soon.
I totally recommend you to book in advance because they are in high demand.
Thus, are you ready for the best plan...
Read moreA beautiful, peaceful place on the island. A bit of a drive and a winding dirt road adventure to get there but it’s well worth the view and the food.
They serve absolutely the freshest of fish, a big seafood paella and local meat options as well. No fries so don’t come expecting any!
I am finding that you can assess a restaurant by its appetizers as it sets the stage for the main course. On Ibiza, most times alioli, bread and olives is an option. At Ses Boques the alioli was freshly made and olives delicious! the bread was small brown rolls but healthy and not stale!
We had the paella which was very flavorful and definitely enough - if not more than enough - for 2 people. Crab was included in the paella which is yummy if you get the claw, I got the legs and just didn’t want to deal with picking out a little crab meat from crab already covered in paella and rice - it gets messy! But if you’re up for it, it’s yummy.
A good wine menu with very reasonably priced options and very friendly staff also makes the experience enjoyable.
The view is beautiful - a small bay south facing with Formentera views on the drive in & out. Not touristy at all - maybe because it’s quite off the main path so please keep it that way!
You can sit on the beach on sunbeds before or after - there are only a handful available and it’s a rocky beach, but the water is...
