Cal Ticus — Restaurant in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia

Our favorite small cava winery recommended this restaurant for lunch before our cava tasting. The recommendation was spot on. We started with the restaurant’s version of patatas bravas that was more like a baked potato with the traditional sauces. That was probably our least favorite part of the meal. We also tried the recommended calcots croquettes and they were a perfect start served with a little romesco sauce. Then the three of us then had wild boar dishes. My husband’s wild boar ravioli was incredible with the thinnest pasta and a delicious sage broth. My wild boar cannelloni with a bechamel sauce and our friend’s wild boar stew that was like a bourguinon were close seconds for which were our favorites. We had such a lovely time here after our cava tasting — the perfect spot to enjoy lunch with my girlfriends. The food was absolutely amazing, and the wine pairing recommendations were spot-on. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the staff — incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Es una pena que la comida, de gran calidad y sabor, y el vino, que muy acertadamente nos había recomendado la camarera (amable y servicial), se viera empañada por el comportamiento del jefe de sala o dueño del local y la mala acústica del local. Todo empezó tras ordenar la comida, cuando tras la recomendación de la camarera de pedir una ración más del arroz, que rechazamos ya que no teníamos mucha hambre, el jefe de sala vino a insistir de nuevo en que la ración era de tamaño reducido y recomendaba una ración más, que decidimos no pedir (creemos que no es necesaria tanta insistencia, especialmente cuando habíamos indicado que ya habíamos comido un aperitivo antes). Después de eso, el jefe de sala acudió en dos ocasiones más a nuestra mesa para pedirnos bajar el tono de voz. Eran las 14:00 y éramos 7 mujeres adultas en conversación relajada, sin ningún grito ni escándalo por nuestra parte, y ni siquiera hablábamos de un extremo a otra de la mesa, ya que el ruido general en el local impedía poder comunicarse con alguien que no estuviera junto a ti. Al ofrecer los postres indicamos que no lo tomaríamos porque nos sentíamos cohibidas para poder hablar tranquilamente y tuvimos que escuchar unos cuantos ataques y excusas antes de escuchar una disculpa. Por tanto, recomiendo el restaurante para acudir con mucha hambre y solo o con una pareja con la que tengas poca conversación, de modo que puedas disfrutar la comida y el vino sin más molestias que el ruido general del local debido a una...
