Bar Casa Álvaro — Restaurant in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Lovely and very authentic place! Don't expect a multi-course dinner, but this place gets you all you need to survive and regenerate after a long hiking trip through the Anaga mountains. Food, beer and coffee at the end of the world at really cheap prices! You should try the wonderful homemade "liquor de nispero" - we took home a whole litre of it for only 12€!!...

After a long hike of 4 hours this place is what you need! The food was home cooked and the beefstew delicious. The meat fell apart so soft. The white cheese was normal and the chickpeas were not a vegetarian option, that is the only down side. Good prices, nice woman behind the counter. We got the bread for free with every meal....

No clue if this was just today’s exception. The lady choose who she gonna serve with food. If you’re local or Spanish, you have more chances. We made her mind after several trials to give us a bread with goat cheese. But this is definitely only option in Chamorga, so be polite to her at least anything! 😀 Two stars...
