Cafe Bar El Paseo — Restaurant in Talavera la Real

Friendly and down to earth atmosphere. We came in with three other families and the owner was quick to put together some tables for all 13 of us to sit together. We were promptly waited upon and ordered an assortment of beverages with plenty of choices for the children and adults. I noticed that they served a beer that I have not had before... Estrella Galicia. I have heard that this was a really good beer so several were ordered. They were brought out in frosted glasses... I have been coming to Spain for 30 years now and this was a first for me. The beer was very good and we all ordered a second round. They delivered three appetizers to our table... pulpo salad, blood sausage and cooked pig tails. WOW!!! all were taste treats. The pulpo in the salad was tender and the flavor was similar to that of a ceviche without the cilantro. The blood sausage was milder than what I have had before... but definately the best tasting in my opinion as well as the rest of the family. The pig tails were a first for me, they were tender and tasted great. We ordered the following; fried fish plate, pork medallions with goat cheese and covered w carmelized onions, chocos (fried octopus is as close as I can get), lagarto pork (pork tenderloin), secreto pork (also hard to describe... but I guess a cross between pork belly and white meat that is seasoned lightly and fried). All of the dishes served were freshly cooked and well presented. Everyone in the family enjoyed the dishes. My favorite was the pork medallions w goat cheese and carmelized onions. Our vacation will be up soon... I wish I could get back here...

Mi experiencia no del todo buena. Llegamos 3 personas a las 11:33 de la mañana, con la intención de pedirnos 3 tostadas de jamón y desayunar. Nos dicen que tostadas no hay, pero que bocadillo de jamón si pueden hacer. ¿Entonces la mitad de un pan con jamón no puedes hacer (porque vale 2,5 por ejemplo) y un bocadillo que nos valió 5€ si puedes hacer? Por cierto 5€ solo un pelín de aceite y el jamón, ni tomate ni nada. Entiendo que fuéramos clientes de paso, pero no me gustó el comportamiento Precio total de 3 bocadillos de jamón y 3 coca cola...21€ Bocadillos jamón y aceite...

Paramos de camino en este bar porque tenía buenas reseñas y buena carta, pero no está actualizado ya que las fotos son de hace años.

Aún así pensábamos que sería buena idea.

No hacen comida, simplemente sirven bebidas y algún picoteo que otro, nos tuvimos que ir. No es una opinión negativa, simplemente lo pongo para ayudar por si deciden parar a comer, no pierdan tiempo.
