Bar Belladona — Restaurant in Teulada

The worst meal we have ever eaten in Teulada after coming here for many years.

Firstly, we seemed to be given another menu to the locals who were dining at the same time as us which was frustrating as this was the main reason we decided to dine here as the food on other tables looked lovely.

We ordered x2 mixed salad which ended up having tuna and eggs in it. There was no mention of eggs or tuna on the menu and we were unable to eat these. They should mention the inclusion of fish on the menu due to dietary requirements and allergies.

The gambas & squid were horrendous and tasted like they were off. Almost everything had a lingering fish taste to it which was not a nice addition.

The staff were nice and the place had an ok atmosphere but I have to say, the worst meal I've had in the area in many years. Overall disappointing as it would be great to have another great local spot in the area - I'd recommend a visit to Las...

Me quedé más que sorprendido con la última reseña, pero leyéndolo bien, ahora entiendo algunas cosas. Me imagino que como no son de la zona, o que tengan poco conocimiento de la gastronomía de la comunidad Valenciana, no saben que las ensaladas de toda la vida tienen huevo y aún. Creo que lo más normal para estar seguro, es preguntar antes de pedir. Yo he desayunado, comido y cenado aquí tantas veces, encima invitando a amigos de distintos países, y siempre han encantado la comida. Por lo menos tienen razón en una cosa, han nombrado otro sitio en Teulada donde se come muy bien también, así que han acertado en una cosa en la reseña por lo menos. Hay un dicho en inglés, "you can't please some people". En conclusión, la reseña no tiene nada que ver con este restaurante, y lo recomiendo 100%. Como se dice por aquí, para gustos colores.

I was more than surprised with the last review, but reading it thoroughly, now I understand some things. I imagine that as they are not from the area, or that they have little knowledge of the gastronomy of the Valencian community, they do not know that the normal salads have eggs and tuna as standard. I think the normal way to be sure, thus avoiding uncomfortable or harmful reactions, is to ask before ordering. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here so many times, even inviting friends from different countries, and they have always loved the food. At least they are right about one thing, they have named another place in Teulada where you eat very well too, so they have got one thing right in the review at least. In conclusion, the review couldn't be further from the truth about this restaurant, and I recommend it 100%. As they say around here, "para gustos colores", which you can't translate literally, but it means something like, everyone's taste is different, and there is a favourite colour...

Visiting this region of the Costa Blanca would not be complete without some time spent here at Belladona. In fact if we could only visit one restaurant this would be it! David and Julia always make us feel so welcome, they care very much about their customers and the experience that they have. Fantastic coffee and breakfasts, lovely lunches and on Friday or Saturday evenings superb dinners full of traditional and contemporary flavours.
