Bar Casa Modesto — Restaurant in Toques

Not a great place at all. No prices listed anywhere, food was not good, and service was bad because the employees were drinking and smoking with their friends. The waiter said a drink is included with menu del dia. Apparently a beer is not included, which they never told me until I went to pay. There was only one 1 option for starter and main course. The starter was deli meats and cheese that seemed to be bought from a supermarket…nothing special. The main course was a bland paella…not good. For dessert they had few options including fruit. I thought it would be something local and fresh with all the orchards nearby but no, they served me a canned peach in syrup. The employees were smoking and drinking with their friends nearly the entire time…I had to go ask them if they even had food because they clearly were not going to ask us if we were going to order anything. Also one of them seemed to be a minor pouring and serving beer.

If you’re hiking skip this place as Melide isn’t too much further and there are much better food...

Bar de paso para peregrinos y primer bar después de una larga bajada sin servcios haciendo el camino, por lo que se paran muchísimos peregrinos. Solo tomé un café y mi amigo una empanada con una bebida. Puedo entender y comprender que estén un poco hartos de tanto peregrino, especialmente a finales de temporada. Aún así, es la mano que da de comer y aunque el peregrino sea un cliente de paso al que no se le vuelve a ver nunca más, se agradecería un trato más cordial. La empleada joven (hija del dueño?) dejaba mucho que desear en cuanto a una actitud chulesca, hasta algo desafiante, entrando en el bar sin dar el buenos dias. Un mal día lo tiene cualquiera, pero la profesión y el cliente requieren respeto. En vez de estar tan hartos de los peregrinos, deberían de estar más hartos de la inseguridad y de los robos efectuados ultimamente en dicho bar, que del peregrino mismo que no ha hecho mal a nadie. Eso sí, a la gente conocida del lugar que va siempre al bar se le trata muy bien. El café de tueste quemado, agrio casi y un mal sabor de boca en general. No puedo opinar en cuanto a la comida ya que no consumi más que lo...
