My partner and I recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding celebration at Casa dels Capellans in Spain, and it was nothing short of a dream come true. From the moment we set foot in this charming restaurant, we knew we were in for something extraordinary.

Aunque llevamos décadas visitando esta zona y desde hace ya cinco años vivimos a pocos kilómetros, nunca habíamos estado en este restaurante. Una auténtica joya escondida en plena naturaleza. Un ambiente precioso que, no por casualidad, ha sido reconocido con un Solete por la Guía Repsol.

Elegimos la noche del sábado para nuestra visita, y al llegar ya sospechábamos que estaría concurrido al ver la cantidad de coches aparcados. Por suerte, hay suficiente espacio para aparcar. Al entrar en el precioso monasterio iluminado, quedó claro que la reserva no había sido un lujo innecesario: las noches de sábado son muy populares entre los comensales.

Amablemente nos acompañaron a nuestra mesa. A pesar de la cantidad de clientes, el servicio fue atento y de buen nivel durante toda la velada. Nada más sentarnos, nos trajeron la carta junto con una botella de agua fresca. Como detalle de la casa, nos sirvieron dos vasitos de salmorejo que pudimos disfrutar mientras repasábamos el menú. El salmorejo era claramente casero y de excelente sabor.

Elegimos como entrantes una Ensaladia dels Capallans con huevo frito y panceta ibérica con salsa kimchi, y el otro plato fue Pan cristal con berenjena, rulo de cabra y cebolla caramelizada. Ambos servidos sin prisas y con un sabor muy logrado. Felicitaciones al chef.

Para el plato principal optamos por el Nuestro entrecot Angus 50% a la brasa con salsa al gusto. No nos preguntaron qué salsa queríamos, y finalmente no trajeron ninguna. Tampoco nos dimos cuenta hasta más tarde. Pedimos el punto de cocción medio y fue servido tal cual, perfectamente. El otro principal fue la Burguer de vaca madurada sobre brioche, cebolla al vino y salsa kimchi. Pedimos que la carne estuviera bien hecha y así fue. Un pequeño detalle a mejorar: el pan del brioche se había vuelto casi líquido debido a la salsa, algo que el chef podría tener en cuenta.

El vino de la casa fue una grata sorpresa, especialmente considerando el precio del menú: 30 euros por persona. Nos sirvieron un Viñas Delvero Somontano, un tinto joven (2023), fresco y agradable.

No somos de postres, así que optamos por dos cafés. En el cortado olvidaron calentar la leche, un pequeño fallo del servicio.

We first stumbled across Casa del Capellans when visiting Cevera d Maestre last year. What a stroke of luck! It was the feast of St. Joseph (aka Father's Day in Spain) so we did have an hour wait without a reservation, but the warm welcome, gorgeous surroundings and amazing food was well worth it! So it was a 'Must do' with family visiting from the states. Naty responded personally to our reservation request and again made us feel like her personal guests when we arrived.
